REVIEWS 2015
“Beautiful hotel in a stunning location”
We stayed at Onda Verde for 4 nights in October and we cannot describe how amazing it is. The hotel is built into the cliff face, on 6 levels, with all the rooms having amazing views of the sea and dramatic coastline. The hotel itself is spotlessly clean. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Thank you especially to Francesco who was brilliant before and during our stay. It was the best breakfast we have ever had, with endless choices of cakes, a variety of freshly cooked dishes, lots of fruit, cereals, etc... And just when you think you can't possibly eat anymore, you are brought a freshly baked slice of cake or similar...The restaurant is also top quality and has a varied menu. The hotel is in a perfect position, between Positano and Amalfi. In October, the coast road was a joy to drive on, with lots of places to stop and admire the fantastic views. If you are looking for a place to stay along the Amalfi coast - choose Hotel Onda Verde - you won't regret it!
“Thank you for a perfect wedding!”
We got engaged during a wonderful holiday in Praiano at the Onda Verde in 2014 and could not think of anywhere more perfect to bring our family and friends to celebrate our wedding. I planned the day over email with Francesco and I cannot thank him enough - his professionalism and attention to detail truly made our day. He was able to sort out beautiful flowers, menus and musicians and helped us with every aspect of our stay and our special day.
The setting is the most beautiful I have ever seen and our guests were completely wowed with the view from our terrace ceremony. The food was incredible, not forgetting our gorgeous lemon wedding cake; thank you Chef Nicola! Fernanda, Ana, Francesco and Andrea truly made us feel part of their family and were so helpful, warm and lovely to us, thank you so much!
If anyone reading this is considering getting married in Italy, please look no further than this wonderful hotel. This will always be a special place for us and we are looking forward to returning for many years to come!
“Lovely!”
We recently stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is located about halfway between Positano and Amalfi. The hotel staff were fabulous! Our room was lovely. We had a car and travelled along the coast visiting the wonderful towns. Praiano is a bit quieter than some of the other towns so a wonderful place to get to at the end of the day. We had a beautiful dinner in the dining room. Thank you!
“perfect location”
perfect location along the busy Amalfi coast. Fantastic facilities and friendly staff, great place to spend our 30th wedding anniversary...dined in the dining room each of the 4 nights we stayed there, beautiful food !!
“Wonderful hotel in a beautiful setting”
I can not prasie this hotel enough. My partner and I went for my birthday and it was ajoy from the minute we were greeted at reception by Anna to the warm embrace from Francesco when we left. The setting was perfect, situated between Amalfi and Positano with a bus stop right out side the hotel. The room was beautiful with th emost wonderful view. The food in the restaurant was excellent and all the staff were warm, friendly, and helpful with information about buses and places to visit. I can not fault it for anything. We have told all our freinds about it and we hope to return one day.
“Brilliant Hotel”
A huge thanks to all the staff at Onda Verde who made us feel so welcome.
It is a magic spot with breathtaking views. The hotel is immaculately clean and comfortable.
I would highly recommend this lovely spot as a retreat to return to after exciting day trips. The breakfast was delicious and each day there were different dishes to choose from.
We had a wonderful stay.
“Truly specatular hotel”
Words cannot describe what a wonderful hotel Hotel Onde Verde is. Everything from the hotel grounds, to our room, to the welcoming hotel staff, to the views were exceptional. The restaurant and chef Nick are in a class all by themselves.
First, the hotel. It was like no hotel I had every visited, with enchanting hallways, sprawling terraces on several levels - all designed differently, but with the same, breathtaking views - the cheerful, warm staff, and the melt in your mouth food (yes, I can't say enough about the food), this hotel was like a dream. The hotel is absolutely spotless. We stayed in a room with a private terrace, with our very own breathtaking view; one that you swear would cost a fortune, but was extremely reasonably priced, for what we received. We stayed there the first week in September, for 5 nights, on a package which included our terrace room, breakfast every day, and a candlelight dinner each night, a guided boat tour to the Island of Capri, and a guided tour of Pompeii. All lovely, lovely, lovely.
The restaurant. This includes the breakfast buffet, and a buffet it was! Everything from eggs, prepared in different ways, fresh pastries, cakes and breads, fresh fruits of all kinds, as well as a variety of meats and cheeses, and of course, an endless supply of fresh coffee, tea and juices. The dinners, truly mouth-wateringly amazing, and more than enough to fill you - 2 courses, plus dessert. Something different each day, and you could choose from a handful of options. I am Italian by ethnicity, raised in a Sicilian household, and I have to say, with the exception of one restaurant in Rome (Di qua), and our lunch in Tuscany, I was very disappointed in the food in Italy (we visited Venice, Rome, Tuscany, and the Amalfi Coast). The restaurant in Hotel Onde Verde made up for the disappointment in my palate. Superb dinning, truly, and the chef and wait staff are first class. My Grandmother would have been amazed. If you do not stay at this hotel, or even in Praiano, you must at least come to enjoy this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
This was, without hesitation, the very best part of Italy trip, and the perfect relaxing end to our 14 day Italian excursion. I highly recommend Hotel Onde Verde.
“Fantastic Anniversary”
A very warm welcome from reception on arrival after they had arranged the taxi transfer from Naples. Had lunch in the restaurant and was lovely with very attentive staff who made you feel welcome.our room was 109 and the views from the balcony were stunning even when the weather was not!! . The hotel arranged a trip to Pompeii after advising us it was easier than taking a bus or taxi and it was a great choice .Its a lovely setting , peaceful and a great base to explore , Positano close by is also a great place to visit . Staff all welcoming and very helpful with a good understanding of English and a great breakfast -would recommend to anyone .
“A Dream Hotel”
I chose to book this hotel for a family vacation based on the many positive reviews I had read. The hotel has its own car park with a lift next to it to enter the hotel. The staff are all very friendly and go out of their way to make your stay a comfortable one. They all speak perfect English. A special thanks goes to chef Nikola for his concern towards my daughter, who was suffering from an allergy. We loved your surprise breakfast treats!!!!. Breakfast was a treat, especially with the inclusion of scrambled eggs every morning. Pity we couldn't eat any meals at the restaurant, but we always arrived too late from our day trips. We ate at the restaurant just below the hotel 'Il Pirata' . The food was good, reasonably priced and the staff were also very friendly. Would definitely recommend it to anyone staying at the hotel. Another factor that made me choose this hotel was the jetty below the hotel from where we left, hassle free, for our day trip to Capri. The staff was very helpful and even booked our tickets. I was staying in a Superior Double Room with sea views. The view was breath taking from the balcony and the bathroom window!! The room was spacious and spotless and the bed very comfortable. This is the perfect place to relax. Hiring a car and driving along the Amalfi coast from the airport in Bari, (arriving at 10pm) was not a very wise decision. The driving was our only negative experience :( Would definitely recommend this Hotel .
“Excelent hotel on Amalfi Coast”
Hotel is perfectly located on the clif near Praiano. The view is absolutely amazing. The room was clean and nice furnished. The hotel cusine is very tasty. Service was helpfull and very polite. Highly recommendable.
“A Very Relaxing Place to Stay”
This hotel is situated in a very beautiful cove with ocean views to die for. The breakfast restaurant offers a huge variety of delicious foods and the staff are very helpful and kind. We stayed for five nights and enjoyed day trips into Positano and Ravello using a private driver but there are regular bus services and we used the boat service into Positano one day and over to Capri on another which I would highly recommend! I would definitely come back!!
“GREAT WELCOMING STAFF AND WONDERFUL HOTEL AND FOOD”
We will let our friends know and tell them to stay with you. We were welcomed by the owner late at night and he was delightful - just a super start. After that we continued on that note and enjoyed every part of our stay. Beautiful room with sea views is a must and the breakfast is absolutely wonderful - delicious fresh sweet fruit, muesli, cooked breakfast, cakes and wonderful tea and coffee. We just thoroughly enjoyed our stay with you and all your held with suggestions on where to go and how to do it. Staff in the office most friendly and helpful.
“The jewel of the Amalfi Coast”
Our stay at Hotel Onda Verde could not have been better. We were greeted by the cordial and super friendly Fernanda. No request was too trivial for her to help us out with during our stay. She was superbly supported by Francesco who was gequally fantastic - even going so far as to source a World Cup rugby game for us to watch. We couldn't fault his service.
We found the location of the hotel to be ideally situated between the major draw cards of Positano and Amalfi. The close proximity to the quaint La Praia beach was also a big plus.
We enjoyed many varied and wonderful local dishes by chef Nikola in the restaurant at very reasonable and comparable (to other Amalfi Coast restaurants) prices. The views from the restaurant were second to none. The service in restaurant was great. Special mention to Andrea who was very helpful in teaching us Italian. Also another special mention to Anna whose bright and cheery nature really emphasized the light and friendly atmosphere of the hotel.
Friends recommended the hotel to us and we will recommend it to anyone thinking of staying on the Amalfi Coast.
“Perfect place in Almafi”
We absolutely loved this place. A family owned and run hotel, although it's hard to call it a hotel because we felt as if we were in a villa. The staff was fun and so helpful. Close to the dock to catch a boat anywhere and a beach in short walking distance. Gorgeous and delicious food for all meals. This is the place to stay in the Almafi Coast!
“Stunning Location!!”
A lovely hotel with amazing views that will take your breath away!! The room was spacious, clean with a fantastic view from the balcony and bathroom! The breakfast included was delicious. Would certainly recommend this hotel it's away from all the hustle and bustle and felt so relaxing!!
“Perfecto!”
Amazing location, located in the Amafi coast, between Positano and Amalfi. The views are spectacular, amazing views from every room. I paid extra for a sea view balcony but every room has a sea view so I felt this extra charge for me was unnecessary. The hotel is run by a family, every staff member was kind and went the extra mile in everything that was asked and even not asked of them. For example my husband and I woke up late after breakfast serving hours. We went to the bar to order espresso's and a croissant before exploring the town. When we approached the bar to pay, she told us " Breakfast is included in your stay". I was so impressed by their gesture, any other hotel would have gladly charged us for what we ordered, but Hotel Onda Verde is more concerned about the happiness of their guests than the money. This is one of the main reasons I would return to stay here! Praiano is small, and more quiet than Positano, which is what we were looking for! Also for Amalfi, this hotel has an elevator, which is rare on the Amalfi coast, but much appreciated when you are lugging all your luggage!
“An Absolute Gem”
We held our Daughters marriage here on 4 October 2015.
All the arrangements were organised by email with Francesco, who was amazing. He is so laid back, yet totally in control and what he says will happen, happens.
The hotel is in an idyllic spot, overlooking a cove on the Amalfi Coast, just stunning.
The rooms are clean, well maintained and all have a sea view, ours overlooked the beach and small harbour.
The food was excellent and the staff were all friendly and efficient.
The arrangements for the wedding went perfectly, nothing was too much trouble and we would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
Thank you Francesco, and all the staff, for making a memorable day so perfect..
“Fantastic Hotel”
We just spent two days at this hotel and it was amazing! From the moment we checked in we felt like we were in paradise, the views are spectacular and the hotel is nestled on a hill built into the mountain. Our room was spacious and very clean. Both dinners at the hotel were delicious. Breakfast was included and was also great, I would recommend this hotel and stay there again. Thanks to Anna her family for a wonderful 2 days. My wife will never forget her 50 birthday at your hotel.
“Anniversary celebration”
Warm, wonderful and will highly recommend! After 10 days of a whirl wind tour of Rome, Florence and Venice we retreated to this amazing gem in Praiano. From the moment we arrived, the Milano Family was gracious and accommodating. Our room was spacious, well appointed and had fabulous views. The restaurant on site was delightful with a variety of freshly made dishes. The chef checked in with us daily to ensure we were satisfied, and we were! If you are looking for a small, intimate and peaceful place to enjoy the Amalfi Coast...look no further!
“I take care of....”
From the arrival to the departure everything was perfect and above and beyond what we expected. Everything was "I take care of".... anytime we asked for assistance. We loved being next to the marina for all our boating and taxi needs. Our shared terrace was what made our evenings after a days running around very relaxing. Francesco and staff you will forever we in our hearts. Gracie!!
“Paradisíaco!”
Que delicia de hotel...lugar maravilhoso....vista maravilhosa....amamos tudo!
Quarto espaçoso, banheiro grande, nosso quarto tinha uma vista incrível para o mar!
Café da manhã super gostoso no restaurante do hotel que tem uma vista incrível!
Atendimento da moça da recepção muito atencioso também.
E a praia embaixo do hotel e pequena mais um charme.
Pedacinho do paraíso na Terra!
“Wonderful Family Run Hotel”
The Hotel Onda Verde is a family run hotel nestled between Positano and Amalfi. Upon our arrival, Francesco greeted us and the first thing he did was shake our hands. The staff was very accommodating and everyone was pleasant. The views are spectacular. We were with another couple and had rooms that were next to each other with a shared terrace. There are two restaurants right on the property and both offer excellent food. You can also walk to many restaurants. If you don’t have a car, you can get around via water taxi (you are next to the marina), the SITA bus that is right across the street from the hotel, or they will arrange a taxi or private car service. There is also a little beach in a cove. I can’t say enough about our experience. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

“Stunning view, perfect treatment by family run business”
Starting from the moment we were met by Francesco Milano (grandson of the original owner), we knew we were home. We were treated with the highest level of professionalism and the staff were diligent with every detail. The food in the Michelin star restaurant was spectacular. And the view from the restaurant was stunning. But our own balcony provided a luxurious view and full privacy. The room and bathroom were amazing too. The location of the hotel is perfect in that it is in a quiet area, but close enough to the action to visit Ravello, Positano and Amalfi by bus (which stops right outside the hotel). We swam every morning in the stoney beach accessed by stairs from the hotel. I loved every moment I spent at Onda Verde and highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting the perfect vacation.
“Beautiful, Romantic, Family Run Hotel”
Thanks to the Milano family for their kind hospitality in one of the most beautiful settings on the Amalfi Coast. Our room with a balcony overlooking the ocean was very spacious and the bathroom was modern. We enjoyed dining in the hotel's restaurant several times in addition to the breakfast which is included. All meals were perfectly prepared and all recommendations were spot on. The view can't be beat. I highly recommend it.
I would suggest that you check ahead of time if you want the hotel to book your excursions since they are only offered on certain days of the week. We made the mistake of not doing that and missed out on a trip to Capri.
It's easy to catch a SITA bus in front of the hotel, but beware of days when cruise ships are in or when the seas are rough. We found them to be overcrowded, packed in like sardines, and had to stand all the way on our visit to Positano. Thankfully, the trip was not too far but I did get motion sickness on the curvy highway with no way to look out the windows. We will not be doing SITA again
“Lovely hotel in charming Praiano”
We selected the Hotel Onda Verde based on other Trip Advisor reviews and were not disappointed. It is situated in the charming town of Praiano; in between Positano and Amalfi, allowing you to get to the more touristy areas of the coast while enjoying a more relaxed and "local" environment. The rooms are nicely appointed but the views from the balconies and restaurant are incredible. Plus the staff, especially Miro, Anna, Francesco and Fernanda, are so friendly, helpful and accommodating. You are also within walking distance to various restaurants and even a nightclub. If you have the stamina, you can trek from the hotel up to the Path of the Gods and back down to Positano (Miro has a map with the shortest way to do this... Still 3.5-4 hours). Love Praiano and would definitely return to Onda Verde as well!
“Gem in the crowded Amalfi Coast”
Superb location between very crowded Positano and Amalfi. Stunning views with quiet, tastefull, comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Private parking with elevator (very needed and rare in area) to reception and rooms. Excellente restaurant. Personal, friendly and professional staff lead by owners, the Milano family. Big thank you to Miro, Francesco and Anna Milano. Beach, rock bathing, local restaurants and boat excursions (Capri included) access at three minute walking distance.
“An undiscovered charm”
When you first arrive at this place in Praiano is very unassuming, you are at their parking lot after all. Then you take the elevator down six floors and you are at the lobby, adjacent to the lobby is the restaurant which I highly recommend for its delicious food and stunning views. Our room was on the first floor which it's actually the highest level. The room was very clean, spacious and had a beautiful view of the ocean, cliffs and little hidden beach between two cliffs. I would like to give special kudos to the chef ( Nicolas) and to our waiter Andrea, to Francesco at the front desk for being helpful and to Anna for the delightful conversation. This family owned hotel is top notch, highly recommended.
“Absolutely Fabulous”
Little gem on the Amalfi coast and totally gorgeous. The views were breathtaking and our room was lovely all in blue. The owners are a family who all work here and clearly take great pride in their establishment. I would hignly reccomend tnis hotel, we loved it but you do need to have reasonable mobility as there are an awful lot of stairs which are great for working off some of the gorgeous red wine and tasty Italian food!
“An amazing place to stay on the Amalfi Coast”
Hotel Onda Verde is a very special place to stay. The hotel is literally built down a cliff and overlooks the sea, but don't be put off, as there is a lift from the main road which takes you down 5 levels to the central area of the hotel. Every room has a sea view, which is constantly changing as boats come and go collecting people from the small wharf below to whisk them off to Positano or Amalfi or somewhere else along the coastline. Our room was very comfortable with our own little deck overlooking the sea where you could watch the activity below. As a family-run hotel, you're made to feel very welcome and Ana, Francesco, Fernanda and Nikola (the Chef) greet you every day as a friend. The hotel restaurant is an added bonus. A never to be forgotten travel experience. Would highly recommend.
“Magical & Amazing location!”
Onda Verde in Praiano, Italy is one of the most beautiful hotels we have ever stayed in. Located on the coast of the Meditarranean Sea with a clear view of the deep blue water from the terrace of our room it was truly a magical experience. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Owned by the Milano family (where each and every member of the family help in running the hotel) one has to book several months in advance to get a good room. We used to look forward to the breakfast of home grown fruits, freshly made breads, bruschetta, eggs and mouthwatering pastries and cakes. If you need to workout there are beautiful pathways along the coast for long uphill downhill walks and of course one can also swim in the sea.Water taxis and buses are available to take you to nearby Amalfi and Positano. I would definitely like to come back again!
“Perfect!”
We spent 4 nights of our honeymoon at the Hotel Onda Verde (30/8-3/9). The hotel was perfect for what we wanted. Praiano is a good base to explore the Amalfi Coast from - quiet and peaceful and close enough to visit places like Positano, Ravello, Capri and Amalfi. The hotel itself is beautiful - a stunning view overlooking the ocean and the staff were always friendly and helpful without being intrusive. Franchesco was an absolute pleasure to deal with and the chef even remembered that I liked their bruschetta and would set some aside for me when we went to have breakfast! We had a wonderful time here - thanks to the staff at Onda Verde for making our trip a memorable stay!
“Amazing views, with the closest proximity to the water...”
In researching the Amalfi Coast, I was drawn to Praiano. It was near the bigger city of Positano, but appear not to be as busy/touristy. The views, and proximity to the water, was a primary reason why we selected this hotel.
Rooms: we stayed in 101, which had a small little balcony, but an amazing view of the sea. It was surreal waking up every morning, and having this view.
House keeping: we usually grabbed breakfast around 9:30a each morning. By the time we returned to our room, it was cleaned. They were very prompt in cleaning. They supplied fresh towels, and refilled soap/shampoo.
Restaurant: breakfast had a nice assortment of fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt, and juices. We enjoyed their food. We had dinner our first night. The quality was very good, and the view was amazing (from our small table overlooking the water). Wine was very affordable, and the seafood was caught fresh that morning.
Overall: we would definitely return, as we loved the location. it was right next to the main dock in Praiano. If you're interested in taking a boat to another town, this is the best spot to be. We spent the majority of our days at the bar/lounge below the resort (Il Pirata). For 20e, you could get 2 waterside lounge chairs, with umbrella. This was the ultimate relaxation for us, as we could easily dip in the water. Onda Verde does not have a pool, which was the only downfall (as the weather was in the high-80s).
“Wonderful small hotel”
If you are expecting a 5 star hotel with night turn down etc this is not for you .The hotel Onda Verde is a charming small family hotel in one of the most beautiful locations in the world. It is impossible to say enough about how accomodating the staff was. It is obvious that the family that owns the hotel pays a lot of attention to details.
The food at the hotel both dinner and breakfast ws excellent. The location of the hotel is also wonderful, somewhat outside oif town and away from the crowds but close enough.
Very easy bus service in front of the hotel to where ever on the Amalfi coast you would like to visit.
“We took a chance and it worked out beautifully!”
We researched the Amalfi Coast for months and cruised the hotel booking websites night after night. Praino was a good bet because of its central location on the coast, and we kept coming back to the photos and ads for Hotel Onda Verde, with the views of balconies overlooking the ocean, sundecks, and beautiful restaurant. When we found a five-day all-inclusive offer, we were sold. Our "shot in the dark" could not have turned out better. We had read about many hotels that were dozens or hundreds of steps from the nearest road. Onda Verde has its own parking lot at street level, with an elevator down to reception and to each level - an elevator carved down into the rock of the cliff. No lugging heavy luggage! The room and private balcony opened to a breath-taking view of the azure water, the bobbing fishing boats, the beach and cove, and the beautiful tile decks below. And the room has air conditioning. Our package included breakfast and dinner, and believe me, we didn't need to eat lunch. The local fruits (including figs from the Milano family trees), pastries made by Chef Nick, and the other assorted breakfast fare made us linger over several cups of coffee. Dinners of two courses of pasta and fish paired with local wines, with mouthwatering desserts were equal to the expectations created by the quality of breakfast. Our package also included day-trips to Capri and Pompeii/Vesuvius. When the day came to move to our new hotel in Amalfi, we tried to extend our stay at Onda Verde. Quiet, secluded, beautiful, uncrowded, attentively managed by the Milano family, a staff that speaks English for the most part... what more could be said?
“It was a magical stay at Onda Verde”
We stayed at Hotel Onda Verde 8-17-15 to 8-21-15 and it was a week of magic. First let me say the staff was amazing and helpful in every way possible. The view was absolutely incredible. We were even surprised at how much we enjoyed the Praiano beach below the hotel. Our room was a good size for Europe easily fitting our family of 3. The balcony from our room had a sea view to die for and opening the doors each morning made us feel like we were floating above the Mediterranean Sea. The morning buffet was the best we experienced in our travels across Italy on our 15 day trip. The pastries and eggs were so delicious we looked forward to it every morning. With the food being great the view while eating on terrace was breath taking. I could do that every morning of my life. The staff like Francesca and Fernanda were so wonderful. It's also a nice central location to visit other towns like Amalfi, Positano and Capri. We live in beautiful Miami Beach on the water but there is literally no comparison to the view and feeling you get at Onda Verde. Can't wait to go back.
“A hidden romantic pearl”
We stayed in Onda Verde for 6 nights. Priano was actually a part of out trip for our honeymoon. First we searched hotels in Amalfi and Positano, but as those places have been pritty booked we desided to try Priano. It was one of our best desicions as this place (Onda Verde) is a most romantic place on Amalfi coast. If you are looking for a quite place just enjoy yourselfs-go there. A hotel designed with a great taste, very clean, has helpful and friendly stuff, tasty breakfast. A public beach is just in 2 min downstears. By car- 15 min to Positano, 40 min to Amalfi. We stayed at room #103, had a great balcony ( we were offered room #104 at the beginning which is great and even more beautiful, but just wanted to swich in order to see also rocks from our balcony. BTW, although hotel was booked, Fernanda still managed to help us). Insomma, recommended for people searching for a romantic place.
”מושלם“

“Lovely hotel in perfect location”
The Hotel Onda Verde was perfect for us. First the owner, his family and staff took great care of us. The hotel is immaculately clean. Our room was clean, well appointed, comfortable and had a wonderful view of the ocean. The restaurant is good and the staff cordial and efficient. The hotel is right on the local and Sita bus line which give you access to the entire Amalfi coast and close to the dock for water taxis. Special tanks to Miro and Fernanda!
“Praiano Koyunda çok güzel bir otel”
Otel gayet guzel, çalışanlar güleryüzlü, yolun deniz tarafında olduğundan denize ulaşım çok kolay. Teraslarında şezlongları olduğundan otelde güneşin tadını çıkarıp hemen aşağıda denize girebilirsiniz...
“Everything we expected.”
My husband and I stayed at the Onda Verde for 4 nights in July as part of a trip from Florence to Capri. The hotel is in a beautiful position and our room was large and airy with amazing views from the balcony.
We ate in the restaurant twice (which we don't normally do) and the food was pretty good with very large portions. The terrace restaurant was extremely romantic and the restaurant manger ensured that we got a table in a great position.
The out side sun bathing terrace is a lovely place to spend the day.
My only disappointment was that they could do with more chairs to provide a place for a pre dinner drink. There are tables and comfy chairs inside and a table with a couple of chairs outside. These were taken each time we stopped for a drink. A couple more chairs would be welcome. Obviously this didn't spoil my holiday so I have still rated it 5 stars.
I would recommend this hotel to any one and I found the reception staff extremely helpful in arranging water taxis and transfer arrangements to Capri.
“Amazing!”
My boyfriend and I stayed at Onda Verde for 4 nights in july and we absolutely loved this beautiful hotel.
The staff was so friendly and service minded, the views spectacular and the rooms were perfectly clean. This hotel was so cozy, it made you feel like home. We also enjoyed the restaurant that had great food. I would highly recommend Onda Verde.
“Feels like coming home”
My second stay at Hotel Onda Verde and would return time and time again. The family atmosphere the Milano family has created ensures a fantastic experience on the Amalfi Coast. The hotel is a quiet peaceful haven away from the bustling crowds of Positano and Amalfi. Easy access to these spots by local bus or water taxi.
Miro and his staff could not have been more helpful.
The restaurant provides a fabulous breakfast and the chef Nicola produces tantalising beautiful meals.....nothing better than dining at sunset on the balcony with a glass of rose and calamaretti stuffed with pecorino cheese on a plate in front of you. A must try! There are a variety of areas to sunbathe or if you fancy a beach to swim in to cool off just below the hotel.
Thank you Miro, Sophia, Francesco and Ferrnanda and all your lovely staff for another memorable stay.
“Amazing views and a gorgeous boutique hotel”
We took advantage of the 7 night package in Onde Verde and we weren't disappointed. The train station transfers from Naples were efficient and effective. The hotel has amazing views which take your breath away from every location. The rooms were a little small however very clean and comfortable. The hotel is located in a perfect place - away from the larger more crowded towns yet extremely close by various modes of transport - bus, taxi, scooter or boat. The hotel is close to other restaurants as well as having access into the sea. There is a little beach close by too! The staff are very friendly and understand the area well. We asked for many recommendations and were not disappointed. We swapped the tours which came with our package for other things - easily! I highly recommend Onde Verde as they provided us with an extremely memorable and happy vacation.
“Perfect view in the perfect location”
Hotel Onda Verde is built into a cliff looking down to Praiano beach and down the Amalfi Coast. Rooms are very comfortable, with great views and the hotel has good access through stairs or a ramp to the beach. Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. Great views from the restaurant.
“Beautiful Boutique Hotel”
This is one of the most beautiful locations on earth. The hotel was outstanding. The food in the restaurant was second to none. Our daughter is an accomplished chef and noted the Michelin Star received was well deserved. We dined several nights over looking the beautiful coast line with its twinkling lights and small boats below. AMAZING!!
The rooms while a bit small were beautifully done with charming Italian decor. Bathroom facilities were well appointed with modern amenities.
There are beautiful views from every location in the hotel, one is awe struck by the beauty that surrounds this hotel. There are numerous locations to steal away for some quiet time or have a massage on the edge of the cliff overlooking the beautiful vistas. In the evenings you can go down to the small marina for a glass of wine and a more party atmosphere or find a quiet place to share a glass of wine with family and friends.
The hotel staff were outstanding. We are already planning our next stay at the hotel!!
“Beautiful property overlooking the sea!”
We traveled from Roma via train to Napoli Centrale. From there we hired BENVENUTO LIMOSINE to take us to the Amalfi Coast. I cannot stress enough to everyone to do the same. The Amalfi Coast roads are VERY dangerous. Driving in Italy is hard enough, driving on the twisting, winding roads to Amalfi with fast Italian drivers is a whole other bit of craziness. But, I digress.
Onda Verde was very comfortable. Our room had a balcony which overlooked the sea. It was very clean, updated and simply beautifully decorated with local tiles.
It was conveniently located close to Positano via bus. The station to p/u passengers is right outside of the hotel.
We arranged a day trip to the Isle of Capri through the hotel and it was PERFECT! The company through which we chartered the boat was located on the beach near the hotel. They were very professional and it was a wonderful day!
The food at the hotel was fresh and delicious. We enjoyed tasting their breakfast, lunch and dinner during our stay. You won't regret booking here. Enjoy!
“Lovely hotel with a spectacular view and excellent service”
We stayed at this hotel for over a week, and could not be more happy with our choice of hotel. The staff are very welcoming and made sure we had nice days in Praiano. They were more then happy to make any arrangements so we got the most out of our stay at the Amalfi coast.
The room was nice and clean and the view from the balcony was spectacular. The restaurant is good, and the service is excellent. We had dinner at the hotel several nights.
“Romantic boutique hotel”
This hotel completely exceeded my expectations. We arrived at Onda Verde by water taxi from Positano. The dock where we were dropped off is directly beneath the hotel. We walked right up to our hotel (it was steep, but it was primarlily a ramp, not stairs). We arrived a little before 3pm and our room was ready. The gentleman who checked us in helped me carry my suitcase up the set of stairs to our room and didn't even accept the tip I offered him. As for our room, we had a balcony with a view of the sea. The hotel itself is set right into the cliffs and we were on the top level. There are numerous sun decks to lay out on and even a nice lawn area where you can lounge or get a massage. On our level we had another lawn/garden area to enjoy the views from, and even an outdoor shower to rinse off after going into the sea. We did not eat at the hotel restaurant, but we ate at Il Pirata downstairs. The food was fresh and the service was great. There is not much to do in Praino other than relax and take in the stunning views. Our two nights at Onda Verde were perfect for that, and very romantic as well. You will not regret your stay here.
“Magnificat views!”
Views were stunning! Hotel staff helpful and friendly. Walking distance to other restaurants. Food very good! Outstanding breakfast which was included! Would stay there again. Less crowded than Positano. We had a lovely room with a large terrace to enjoy the view.
“A wonderful hotel in every way”
Our week long stay at this beautifully situated hotel was just perfect. As you check in you are greeted by the reception staff as though you are old friends. Our room was immaculately clean, stylishly decorated and very comfortable with a balcony overlooking the sea. We dined in the restaurant every evening as the food was exceptional. The restaurant menu was varied and the quality superb. The restaurant staff were knowledgeable, helpful and nothing was too much trouble. We would unreservedly recommend this hotel . It's quiet, stunning location makes it the perfect place from which to explore the Amalfi coast.
“Anniversary vacation”
We stayed at the Onda Verde with the 5 day package at the end of June 2015. What a beautiful place! The photos on the website are very accurate, beautiful views and posh, clean rooms. Breakfast was delicious and had many choices of meat, cheese, eggs, fruit and pastries, and you can eat overlooking the ocean and boats. Staff was really friendly and helpful with local info, bus tickets and arranging the boat tour to Capri. It was very easy to visit Amalfi and Positano by bus, and very relaxing to go to the small, intimate beach at Praia, a short walk down the path from the hotel. Top notch food at the restaurant too. Perfect place for a romantic getaway!
“Fabulous Friendly Hotel in an Enchanting Location”
We went with a couple of friends and loved the unique setting of each of our hotel rooms set into the hillside, with wonderful views along the coastline. The hotel is family owned and the staff were first class and extremely helpful and friendly. Our room was small, but very comfortable and immaculate with a small ensuite shower room with beautifully coloured local tiles. We loved the light airy restaurant with its panoramic views and great cuisine from Nico the Chef.
We found water taxis ordered by reception were a great way to get to Amalfi and Positano and helped avoid the tortuous roads. The only downside was our driving the tortuous route from Naples airport across on a Friday night in the dark! However when we found the hotel, we never looked back, it was magical.
“Perfect Praiano”
We stayed in the gorgeous deluxe terrace rooms - the views were so special and the terrace was the perfect place to sit and contemplate how glorious life is on the Amalfi Coast! Plenty of space in these rooms and the furnishings are lovely. The hotel's restaurant is one of the best in Praiano and very reasonably priced. The hotel is just a few steps from the beach, where we grabbed a boat for the morning, hopping around the coast to swim in the coves and small beaches - couldn't recommend this enough! The Onde Verde staff are very welcoming and helpful - and the location is perfect. Book it!
“An outstanding hotel experience in Priaiano”
My husband and I stayed here with friends for a week in mid June to celebrate my 60th birthday. From the moment we entered the hotel we were warmly welcomed by the hotel reception. Our rooms were excellent with terrace and balcony overlooking the sea. We dined in the hotel restaurant every night and the food was the best we have ever encounted on holiday. The menu was extensive and every night the talented chef included four speciality dishes so there was a great variety to suit all tastes. The waiters, bar staff and cleaners were friendly and nothing was too much trouble. I would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a peaceful haven on the busy Amalfi drive.
“Simply awesome ”
Fantastic place to stay with breathtaking . views. Staff were very helpful. Great accommodation. Transportation to and from the hotel was great. Resteraunts below were delicious . A Great way to start a holiday of a lifetime.
“Amalfi Heaven!”
My husband and I made our seventh visit to Onda Verde on April 28 through May 3. Each visit is better than the one before. Not only are the views from the hotel spectacular, the property itself is splendid! The rooms are beautiful and quiet, the beds extremely comfortable, and the owners and staff always happy to do whatever necessary to make you stay perfect. From the time you wake in the morning and have a delicious breakfast in the beautiful diningroom overlooking the turquoise sea, until the time you finish a delicious dinner prepared by Nicolo while watching the sun set and the moon and stars reflected on the water, you are pampered and treated like royalty. The Milano family strives to make your dream vacation on the Amalfi Coast come true.
“Excellent stay on the Amalfi Coast”
Would highly recommend this hotel. We stayed 5 nights and took advantage of the package offered by the hotel - which included transportation to and from Naples, daily dinner at the hotel (which was always delicious), and a trip to see Pompeii and Capri. The price is extremely reasonable, and it's fantastic not having to worry about finding a dinner spot at night or separately arranging transportation between Naples.
The view is of course breathtaking, and the hotel is situated in a very quiet spot along the coast. It is rather secluded, which often makes it feel like you're the only ones there. Of course, the one downside is that it's not really possible to walk around - it's you, a few other hotels, and that's about it. It's very easy to get to the larger towns, though - including downtown Praiano and Positano. We took the bus once, which was an experience. A couple we met at the hotel took us into Positano one night with a car they rented, but I would only recommend renting a car if you feel truly comfortable driving on those roads. We never needed a taxi while we were there, but I'm sure the hotel would be able to help you get one.
There's a beach right below the hotel, which has a pier where the boat to Capri picks you up. It's also possible to get a water taxi there to visit some of the other beaches near the hotel.
The staff are all very friendly and willing to help you with whatever your needs may be.
Bottom line: Definitely consider the Hotel Onda Verde if you'd like a rather quiet hotel tucked away in the hills between the "larger" towns along the coast. And consider the 5-day package! It's well worth the money.
“Wonderful Hotel & Amazing Staff”
Not only is the hotel beautiful and well located, but the staff were outstanding. We had an amazing view from our room and the beach was so close. We would definteily recommend Hotel Onda Verde as the perfect place to stay.
“the way you want it”
Stayed 4 nights in this nice, friendly, quiet, well oriented hotel. Staff was friendly and helpfull, nice rooms, VERY clean and fully equiped, etc etc... Niot one single thing to complain about, on the contrary!
“One of the best spots of the Amalfi Coast”
Great location between Positano and Amalfi. Perfect to relax and enjoy the amazing view. The dinning roon offers outstanding experience of amazing view with great food made from chef Nicola. Just a short walk from the pleasant shore Marina di Praia, Onda Verde is deffinetely one of the best spots of the Amalfi Coast.
“Fantastic Hotel on the Amalfi Coast”
The trip from Naples to Praiano was long and winding but very scenic. We arrived at the hotel parking area (street level) and took the elevator down 5 floors to the lobby for check-in. Our party of 3 couples all had rooms with amazing views of the coast. They were all well decorated, clean and very comfortable.
The staff was exceptional and made us feel right at home. The full breakfast buffet was included with the rooms and the variety and quality was excellent. We ate dinner at the restaurant both nights and the food and service was also great.
If you stay here, a few rooms are on the same level as the elevators but many are between floors and require a lot of steps. If this concerns you, be sure to ask for a room near an elevator.
There were many outdoor areas to sit and admire the view. You could also take the stairs down to a beach area where you could catch a water taxi, find a restaurant or take a tour to the blue grotto or Isle of Capri.
The hotel is also on two bus lines with frequent stops. We took the bus into Positano one day and found it very crowded. It let us off at the top of a hill with a walkway leading down to the ocean. There were a lot of shops and restaurants along the way. We had a nice lunch and did some shopping as we worked our way down the hill to the beach.
We decided to take a private water taxi (16 euros per person) back to the hotel instead of walking back up the hill to catch the bus. We later found out from other travelers that they had a difficult time getting on a bus since they were full and didn't stop.
Overall it was a very pleasant experience I would recommend to anyone wishing to visit the Amalfi Coast.
“Hotel with amazing views”
The Onda Verde is a beautiful hotel in the most lovely setting imaginable. Our room had a private balcony which was a beautiful place to relax and gave the room the feel of being a private villa, despite having the hotels wonderful facilities to hand.
We had lovely breakfasts overlooking the sea and a nicely appointed bathroom and bedroom. The staff were friendly and helpful and the general balcony area was a lovely place to relax on. The Onda Verde has an excellent restaurant in the building whilst also being literally 2 mins walk from lovely restaurants like Il Pirata and Africana.
Would recommend wholeheartedly.
“Holiday May June 2015”
A fantastic location and Hotel. Would recommend a stay here top quality rooms, views, food, wine and staff. Just a short walk to sea taxis with many places to visit around the area. Many places to relax and enjoy the sunshine both at the hotel and on the sea shore.
“A memorable stay in Praiano”
My wife and I enjoyed our seven day stay at Hotel Onda Verde very much. The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful, our room was spacious, very attractive, and had a fabulous sea view. Our half-board meals were delicious and were one of the high points of our visit. The hotel's setting on the rugged Praiano coast, with its tunneled elevator and connecting passages to the hotel rooms is extremely unique. Planned excursions to Capri and Pompeii that were part of the 7-day inclusive package were well-organized and very enjoyable. The hotel location provided a perfect balance of seclusion and convenience to transportation along the Amalfi coast and activities such as hiking the coastal trails. A stay we will not forget!
“You won't be disappointed.”
This property was outstanding and the staff were exeptional. From the moment we arrived down the cliff face by lift without having to drag our bags up or down what could be hundreds of steps we knew we had a bargain. This property was a real surprise with the rooms and views etc being far greater than the pics on the nett could portray. We could have stayed weeks and to say the staff made us feel at home was an understatement. The staff here are very closely knit and all will go out off there way to ensure your stay is without any needs. Always around but never pushy. Just around the corner you can catch a water taxi or charter boat to Capri. Reception can arrange for you. We found this to be nice and quite and a very romantic place away from the more touristy areas. Dinner and Breakfast etc on the cliff face, right next to the water was amazing. The food was great with the best breakfast selection we had while in Italy. If was so hard to tear yourself away. We'd go back to this place in a heartbeat! Even if only to say hello to the owners again and have a coffee or wine while enjoying the superb view.
“Paradise in Praiano”
We had a wonderful stay at Onda Verde on the Amalfi coast from May 25 to June 1st. The location is perfect for exploring the area. There is a boat dock and beach connected by a walkway from the hotel and the bus stop for the local and coastal bus is right outside the covered parking area. The hotel is situated on 4 different levels with stunning views of an old tower and the sea. The breakfast had a wonderful selection of fresh fruit and pastries and cakes. The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke English very well. We stayed in room 105, it had a large bathroom with colorful tiles and jacuzzi tub. The bedroom furniture could be updated but we had a nice large terrace. There isn't a pool but they have a large terrace with comfy sun loungers and umbrellas and a shower area. The chef was very accommodating for my gluten-free needs and the fresh tuna was exquisite! They had various excursions available to Capri, Pompeii and Vesuvius and the Blue and Emerald Grottos. It is a wonderful area to visit and this is a wonderful hotel to use as your base.
“Lovely Place, lovely people”
Friends of ours had stayed many times at Onda Verde and raved about it. We spent 4 nights there and they were right to rave. The property was an amazing engineering feat, the views were spectacular, and the entire staff was so friendly and helpful we felt like family. The chef does some very nice things with pasta too. It is between Praiano and Amalfi, but there is bus service. Taxis are very expensive,, so if you want to explore the coast suggest you rent a car.
“Great location, delicous kitchen, very friendly staff”
A warm welcome and an idyllic place. The kitchen was a perfect selection of Amalfi Coast specialities. The staff was very nice, helpfull and friendly. A great place for relaxing. We will definitley come back!
“Perfect Couple's Vacation Spot All Around”
From setting up the car transport who met us at the Naples train station, to the help arranging day trips around the Coast, the dinners at the restaurant and everything in between - Hotel Onda Verde is a perfect vacation spot for couples. This family run hotel provides exceptional customer service, lots of great humor from the staff, amazing and fresh food at the restaurant for breakfast or dinner and a view no matter the time of day that is truly unforgettable. If you are looking for a well priced hotel in a location that is central to hitting all the cities/villages along the Amalfi Coast along with water taxi convenience, bus pickup location or access to Capri or Pompeii then Hotel Onda Verde can provide all of that. The town of Praiano is a nice relaxing town close enough to the action of Positano or Amalfi by taxi, water taxi or public bus and a nice alternative. We also took a cooking class up in Ravello for a day and the "Sentiero degli Dei" (which I highly recommend) from Praiano to Positano starts in the hills directly above the hotel and the bus from Positano drops you back off right in front of the hotel for less than $2. Francesco, Miro, HIlary and Fernanda were so helpful at the front desk with any request or question we had and Genero, Andrea and Chef Nicola couldn't have been nicer or more accommodating with any food request or dining experience we inquired about. Our hotel room was quiet, extremely clean and the AirCon worked great when we needed it. The view from our hotel room was priceless overlooking the cliffs, sunset and Amalfi Coastline. I highly recommend the Hotel Onda Verde!
“Hotel romantico”
“Great hotel, staff, location and food.”
We had a great time at Onda Verde Hotel. The staff in general is great, very helpful and friendly. The hotel is clean and the location is perfect! It is in the middle of Positano and Ravelo. The breakfast is good, with many options. The room and shower was very good. If you want to relax and have a great time at Amalfi Cost, don't think twice!! We would definitley go back!!!
“Very accomodating for special diets”
Besides all the great services, fantastic sightseeing tips and excursions, beautiful rooms and breath taking picturesque location, Chef Nicola was more than accommodating to my wife's vegan diet. Every dinner during our 5 night stay there was a special appetizer and main dish made especially for her. The dishes for me and the other guests were sensational. The breakfasts were also plentiful for any vegetarian or vegan. A place to consider if you want to stay at a hotel that cares about the special diets of their guests. Thank you for the wonderful experience. Also many thanks to Fernanda, Francesco Milano, Mr. and Mrs. Milan, and waiter Andrea and all the dining room staff for making us feel like more than just customers. You are treated like friends and family during your stay at he Onda Verde!
“Perfect location with breathtaking views, accommodating staff, great restaurant”
It was the perfect place to stay for the week. The staff was very nice and extremely helpful and the food was delicious. The view from my room was one of the most breathtaking sights I have ever seen. I would definitley go back in a heartbeat.
“Paradise”
My daughter and I loved Onda Verde. The location and views are amazing and the hotel staff couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating. I have been to the Amalfi coast many times and this was by far my favorite spot. Short drive to Positano, Amalfi and Ravello. Beach and water taxi/boat rentals steps away. We will be back!
“Breathtaking views, great onsite restaurant,”
The stay at Onda Verde was amazing . Gorgeous panoramic views. Exceeded our expectations by far. The staff was extremely attentive, freindly , and helpful. The location on the Amalfi coast was perfect for day trips to other towns, but we were always ready to return to our little "Slice of Heaven" at the end of the day. The food at their onsite restaurant was excellent. The beach was a two or three minute walk away which offered kayak rentals, boat rental etc. Also, this is where you leave out of on boat excursions, or water taxis to other towns. had a few restaurants by the beach for lunch or dinner that were good and convenient. Hope to go back one day.
“Perfect place on Almalfi Coast”
This hotel is literally built into the cliff and the views from everywhere in the hotel are amazing! Elevator to all rooms (believe me this is important:) Hotel staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant was good and there are four more within walking distance. Buses stop right outside hotel to take you anywhere you want to go or the staff will arrange transportation for you. Their recommendations were excellent. Can't wait to go back!
“Bellissimo!”
The staff was very gracious; the rooms were meticulously clean and lovely; the meals were delicious.
We couldn't have picked a lovelier place. It was quiet and elegant without being stuffy.
Our waiter, Andrea, was so eager to please and to help us with our Italian pronunciation. Molto grazie a tutti!
“A place to return to”
We stayed there 5 nights and every day was perfect. the Staff was wonderful, food was amazing, beautiful room, and lovely views. We were with a group and we could not ask for better attention and accommodations Cheers to the Restaurant Staff!
“Professors Eisman and Bennett and wives”
Away from the touristic hustle-bustle of Positano and Amalfi and stunningly situated, Hotel Onda Verde in Priano is amongst the loveliest hotels on the Amalfi Coast. We were two couples on a holiday, stayed 6 nights and were treated extremely well by the frIendly staff. The hotel's restaurant was a highlight, particularly breakfast, as was coming home to cocktails in the afternoon. We recommend Onda Verde very highly!
“Stay here!”
Fantastic and magical. We just stayed 1 week and it was very hard to leave. Beutifully maintained. Nice size rooms. Several breathtaking terraces. Flowers and tasteful ceramic touches everywhere. If you prefer to be out of the fray while visiting the Amalfi coast, this is the hotel for you. Every room has a stunning view of the sea. Located in the more subdued town of Paiano; but only a 2 min walk to the boat taxi which can take you to Positano or Amalfi in 10-15 minutes. The staff is very accommodating and friendly. Family owned. VERY good restaurant on site but close to others as well. Delicious breakfast buffet included; as is private car transport from and to the Napoli Centrali train station. We chose the inclusive package with tours to Capri and Pompeii/ Mt Vesuvius. Arranged our own to Ravello, 45 minutes away. It was heaven to return to our non congested haven after a long day of adventuring with the crowds. Loved this property. Molte grazie to everyone at the Onda Verde!
“Amazing family style very nice hotel”
We stayed 6 nights at this amazing hotel. the staff is a nice and cariyng family - they are very wellcoming and trying to make our vacation enjoyable. the location of thje hotel is just perfect for a vacation in the Amalfu coast - near to all the towns and attractions. it has car parking which is not obvious at the region, It has a lift which is very helpful because of height differences.
the hotel is on the clif looking from all the rooms to the wonderful view of the sea.
There are nice resturants on the marina aside the hotel and also boats than can take you to all attractions at the Amalfi coast. food is very good and delicious, rooms are very very clean
To summerize - one of the best hotels for a romantic relaxing vacation
“Fabulous days on the Amalfi Coast”
We had a lovely two days at the Hotel Onda Verde. The rooms are beautiful with tile floors and amazing views from every room. The bed was very comfortable and the rooms are large and comfortable. The service was accommodating - very friendly staff. We also had a memorable dinner in the restaurant which was a short walk away from the hotel on a concrete walkway. Alfonso Restaurant.
We used this hotel as a base from which to see Ravello, Pompeii, Sorrento.
“"Heaven Away From Home"”
Stunning views that will capture your heart! Amazing location that is away from all the tourists and just a short walk to the center of Praiano. The staff at Onda Verde are truly very personable and accommodating. They will help you decide on where to go and make all arrangements for you. The restaurant is outstanding and the chef will come to your table and explain the menu if you have any questions. We stayed here for 6 nights and were very comfortable. When trying to decide where to stay on the Amalfi Coast, we did not have a clue, which area would suit us. After visiting Amalfi and Positano, we are so very happy that we decided to stay at the Onda Verde in Praiano not only because of the incredible and superb hospitality but also because the location is to die for! There is a beach and swim area, just a short 3 minute walk away, and also other restaurants and bars if you can actually tear yourself away from the Onda Verde! If I could give this a 10 star rating, I would. Treat yourself to an ultimate holiday! PS There is a bus that stops right in front of the hotel for trips to Positano and Amalfi which is most convenient.
“Exceptional vacation”
We had an outstanding visit to the Hotel Onda Verde. The rooms were clean, the staff was exceptional and the view was incredible. Our only regret is that we didn't plan to stay at this Hotel longer. The hotel does have parking, but it is limited and there is no other parking in the area. There is no shopping close by, but there are some restaurants along the water and the food in the Hotel restaurant is great. I would recommend this location for a quiet, relaxing vacation.
“Great hotel, great service, great view!”
It is a fantastic hotel with nice rooms, very clean, fantastic service, friendly people and a marvelous view on coast and sea. Around there are a lot of impressing little towns and you can have a nice boat trip to Capri.
“Breathtaking!!”
This being our first trip to Italy, we didn't want to miss the ever dramatic coast line of Amalfi, however I felt unsure of what town to stay in since they all seemed so fantastic. We ultimately decided to stay in Praiano which ended up being a fantastic decision. We found that staying out of the big cities helped us find better rates and the bus (an experience that must be had) made it so easy to get to all the cities and spend the day exploring.
If you want to stay in Praiano - look no further than this hotel. Built into the cliffs, this hotel is more beautiful than the pictures describe. It provided the utmost in serene mornings and evenings for us. We had the most quiet breakfasts we've ever had - we couldn't stop taking in the view as we dined over the ocean breaking onto the cliffs. Not to mention, marveling at the engineering that keeps the buildings from tumbling into the waters! Each night we slept with the doors to our balcony wide open and listened to the waves, and each morning we could watch the sun rise. It was a total dream that we can only prove was real by the pictures.
Thanks to the incredible staff for making our honeymoon so memorable! We will be back for anniversaries!
“Relax e posto meraviglioso”
Consiglio vivamente.
“Amalfi break”
This was a truely brillient 7 days. The views from the hotel are fantastic, the staff cannot be anymore helpful, very clean and the food is excellent. I booked this for my wifes birthday, her coment wad that it surpassed all her expectations, having breakfast on the balcony watching the dolphine swim by was the iceing on the cake
“Wonderful hotel”
We stayed at the Hotel Onda Verde for 5 nights in early May and we had a wonderful stay. The hotel is built into the side of the mountain and has absolutely gorgeous views. The hotel grounds are really nice and modern with old Italian charm. I really enjoyed that flowers and plants decorated the balconies, terraces, and grassy areas throughout each level of the hotel. The hotel is located at the edge of a small village so it is quiet but you can walk a short distance to nearby restaurants. The beach is located a short walk away and there are plenty of lounge chairs around the hotel to enjoy the sunny weather.
We stayed in room 123 which was on an upper level and had a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom and a huge private terrace (Deluxe Double Room). The views from our terrace were amazing. The room itself was beautifully decorated and very romantic. The room does have a small refrigerator to keep your drinks cool and has a TV along with a hair dryer in the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and pillows were great. The maid staff were very good and did a spectacular job keeping the hotel clean and looking wonderful.
All of the hotel staff were very nice and helpful. We were able to plan day trips through the hotel and obtained local bus tickets at the hotel desk which took us to all the nearby villages for sightseeing. The daily breakfast was very good with a wide selection of buffet items and we were able to eat outside on the restaurant terrace every morning.
I definitely recommend the Hotel Onda Verde and hope to return for a stay when I return to the Amalfi Coast.
“The quiet magic of Onda Verde, Praiano”
Situated halfway between the hustle and bustle of Positano and Amalfi, Onda Verde Hotel is just a treasure on the Amalfi Coast. Quiet, serene, magic views and special hotel staff made out stay memorable. Buses right at the door or walk to the village of Praiano. Overlooking the beach and fishermen going about their daily business or walk to many local restaurants in the area. Very comfortable room with attentive staff.
“Comfort and quality in quaint Praiano”
Basing ourselves outside the madness of the towns of Amalfi, Revello, and Positano was a great idea. Praiano is a quiet town with lovely views, good restaurants, and a most fabulous hotel in Hotel Onda Verde. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, all staff we encountered were courteous, helpful, and friendly. Our room 5 floors below street level had a stunning view of the Amalfi Coast. It was roomy and very comfortable (once we figured out how to get the A/C working). I highly recommend this hotel.
“Stunning View - Unmatched!”
Highlight of our trip to the Amalfi Coast.
When the local bus from Sorrento and Positano stopped us off on the main road in the small fishing village of Priano, we thought we'd made a big mistake.
All you can see of the hotel from roadside is a parking pad and a small elevator. But downstairs- we gasped. This is an extraordinary gem of a location - a hotel with a stunning view and unforgettable character and now ranks number one in our all our years of traveling.
The Onda Verde is built into the hill side/cliff side. The hallways are carved out of the rock. The rooms are quiet and clean. Most unusual - it is right on a local path down to a most unique beach, where Sophia Loren, Marcello Mastroianni and other luminaries used to bask in the sun and beauty.
We spent our days walking up and down that path - reveling the beauty of the coastline, the water and in particular one local celebrity. Giuseppe is a retired chef who holds court at the beach. You can't miss him. He proudly sits on a white chair in greeting all those who cross his sigh. He regaled us with stories of Aristotle Onassis, Maria Callas and film director Franco Zeffirelli who all visited his restaurant.
The Onda Verde had a delightful breakfast included in the price - we savored our coffee watching the yachts and fishing boats. Dinner was at the beach at a restaurant run for 30 years called Da Armandino. The owner is attentive and the location is delightful.
As for the Onda Verde - It is a family run operation. Classy. Clean and worth the extra drive from Positano.
And don't be too concerned if you think the taxi or bus has dropped you off in the middle of nowhere. Take the elevator down. It will take your breath away.
AF.
“The Best of Amalfi”
From the cleanest, most comfortable suite with breathtaking views to the excellent restaurant serving a delicious breakfast followed by gourmet meals for lunch and dinner makes the Onda Verde a gem on the Amalfi coast. AND then all that is outdone by the management and staff that truly make you feel at home! So friendly and helpful! The chef is great as is the restaurant wait staff. We loved it all so much we stayed an extra 2 days( total of 6 )!
Note: Easy bus service directly from hotel to towns all along the coast.
“Beautiful getaway.”
Whether its to see the many sights up and down the stunning Amalfi coast or just to relax, soak up the sun and sample the amazing cuisine, this is the place for you. Particularly if you want to getaway and relax in peace but not be too far away from other busier locations to visit. The staff are welcoming and helpful, the hotel spotless and comfortable and the coastline location breathtaking...in all weathers! Loved our 11 night stay here and would return in a heartbeat.
“A hotel for the discerning couple”
If you want to visit the Amalfi coast, this is the place to stay - you won't be disappointed. You can lounge on your balcony, read a book and enjoy the view or you can explore the coast line, walk in the hills or brush up on your Roman history. And the food is pretty good too!
“Fabulous hotel to stay at.”
We love the Onda Verde. It is our second time staying there. Beautiful rooms, outstanding views,
excellent breakfast and wonderful dinners. The owners are very hands on and go out of their way to make your stay perfect. The entire hotel is spotless and charming with lots of public seating terraces. Parking is easy and free, a real bonus in this region.
This is the perfect Amalfi coast hotel, do yourself a favour and stay at the Onda Verde.

“Awesome place”
Dont even know how to start. The hotel is a boutique hotel, but it has amazing staff, incredible food and over the top views. If you want to relax, take in the beauty of the amalfi coast, then this is the place to be. The hotel was simply amazing in every way. The rooms are comfortable, don't expect anything large same goes for the bathrooms. I was able to get a private cooking class from the restaurant chef! Amazing, will never forget. Wifi available free of charge all around hotel and room. Breakfast was great! Al fresco will never be the same.
“Best hotel in the Amalfi coast”
We had a perfect experience at the Hotel Onda Verde - wonderful family run hotel, comfortable rooms, great views, terrific tours and gourmet food. The staff was top notch and everything was pristine. This was a top hotel at a fair price. We will be back!
“Great visit to the Analfi coast”
Stayed at hotel Onda Verde at Praiano on the Amalfi Coast for 6 nights. Absolutely fantastic hotel, great views, great rooms, great meals and great service. Definitely recommend the spaghetti arrabiatta and nougat parfait! Easy bus ride to Positano and Amalfi, the village is lovely and went to Mass at St Lucia where charming children sang the hyms beautifully. Definitely recommend this hotel.
“Dream HoneyMoon!!!!!”
This Hotel was incredible. So was getting there, driving from Potenza 4 nights with family the winding roads and fast traffic made it hard to really take in the sites driving on a cliff. If you weren't driving it was just as great. Parking at this hotel was scarce but we were lucky it was in slow season. The hotel was created in the cliff. We upgraded our room but the other room was just as beautiful. The sunrise was worth waking up to and the cappuccinos tasted way better. The evening we would watch local fishermen fish for the catch of the day. Incredible seafood in the restaurant all caught by the same guys we watched.
The gentleman at the front desk was incredibly helpful telling us what we should do with our days, what to see and eat. Made us both so comfortable and felt like family. It was so hard to say goodbye to the staff and especially him. The view alone is great but everything else was a plus.
“Fabulous views, food and cake for breakfast”
I stayed in Hotels Onda Verde with a group of friends over Easter 2015. I shared a superior triple room with two of the group. The beds were comfortable, shower was lovely, amazing views right from our room. While we didn't eat every meal there we thoroughly enjoyed the delicious breakfasts, an Al fresco lunch with delicious fresh food and a special Easter dinner. Neighbouring restaurants in the cove and caves below Onda Verde had welcoming staff and delicious food.
“Paradise”
Waking up with that view is the closest to heaven you can be. The weather was terrible during our stay, but we were so happy in our room, looking at the sea, mountains and clouds, It didn't matter. The rooms are decorated with local ceramics and ours had a balcony. Staff is extremely friendly and helpful, restaurant is very good, and the hotel has a lot of areas to enjoy. We loved it. It has good internet access and parking (super important in the area!).
“A must on the Amalfi Coast!!”
This wonderful hotel is the way everyone should run a business.
Family owned and run this hotel and restaurant runs perfect.
We stayed here 9 nights and could not have been happier
From the front desk with Emilio, Francesco and Fernandia who are there for you with any help you may need and a smile doing so to the restaurant staff who are remarkable.
We had breakfast every morning and the buffet is wonderful and well attended to. We had dinner in the restaurant 5 nights and every meal was great. Chef Nic is amazing!
My husband even took a private pasta class with him. He is wonderful.
This hotel is clean and well appointed.
We had a balcony room with an incredible view!
We had wine and tapas each night on the balcony before dinner!
This hotel is quieter than Amalfi and that's perfect. Plenty of restaurants and shops in walking distance. The Italian market Tutto per Tutti is a must for all your needs! They will even pick you up and bring you back to do your shopping no charge!
The front desk can arrange all your tours. We did Capri, Pompeii and Amalfi by boat all arranged by the front desk. The artist tower next door is a must do. Wonderful and talented Man.
I could go on and on about this unforgettable experience made possible by the fantastic staff at Onde Verdi. We highly recommended this establishment and we hope to come back. Thank you Onde Verde.
