Our only regret about Hotel Onda Verde was having to leave after a seemingly short week of enjoying the truly breathtaking sights of the Amalfi Coast and, most importantly, the company of the owners Miro and sister Sofia, as well as our waiter extrordinaire Gennaro (he looks like Dean Martin and is very sweet).  Our airline misplaced our one and only luggage for six days and Miro and Sofia were so sympathetic and helpful in assisting us.  We really did  not think our vacation could be salvaged, but Miro and Sofia were so caring that we were able to forget our problems.  In addition to the warm hospitality, the dinners at the hotel were fantastic (different menu nightly) - Miro's father, Francesco, Sofia and Antonio deserve all the credit.  We suggest opting for the half board (breakfast and dinner) and not have to worry and take your chances about dinner elsewhere (some of them tourist traps).
The hotel is ideally located and in easy reach of all the major town/cities (Amalfi, Positano, Praiano, Ravello, Sorrento, Capri, Maori, Majori and Salerno).  The SITA bus (do NOT rent a car) stop is right in front of the hotel and can take you to all the towns. The schedule is pretty regular so if you miss one, another will be along shortly.  We particularly loved the hotel, as it is in a quiet part of town (1 km outside the town of Praiano), and is a perfect respite after a long day of playing tourist. And there are many areas just around the hotel itself that you can explore - the beach and a cove with several restaurants and a small church, the tower nearby and its resident artist, Paolo Sandulli and the walkway with wonderful views of the coastline.  The Emerald Grotto is 5 mins away by bus. We highly recommend this hotel for the location, the food and the specially warm, helpful people who run it.
The hotel itself is immaculate, all rooms have a gorgeous view and all the modern amenities anyone can  want. The beach is just a few steps away from the hotel.  We cannot wait to return, and even longer next time.  Again, "Molte Grazie" to Miro, Sofia, Gennaro and staff for everything (especially for treating us like family and the celebratory champagne on our last night).  My wife and I will be more than glad to provide comments, and answer inquiries for those interested in Hotel Onda Verde.  We promise - you will not be disappointed.

Thank-you for the first class accomidations and service. My sister and I didn't know what to expect from booking a hotel on the web. I have to tell you all from the minute we walked into the lobby we were in heaven! OndaVerde is a true gem. Everyone was always smiling and so helpful with all of our demanding requests. I wish we had more time at the Amalfi Coast. Of all the places we visited in Italy this summer our experience at OndaVerde was by far the best and most missed.
Praiano itself was so charming we got to know some of the locals, and had so much fun sitting in the sun drinking Lemonchello!!!(bought five bottles) I miss swimming in the salty blue sea!!and I miss Genado's smiling face every night at dinner. Next time I come to Italy all of my time will be spent at the Amalfi coast where the people are the most beautiful and kind hearted in all of Itlay.

They say it is nice to be home, but it's even nicer in Praiano! We had a fabulous Honeymoon in your delightful Hotel.
We had been looking at the website for some years and looked forward to visiting you, but nothing can prepare you for the breathtaking experience.

My wife, Abbie, and I spent a week at your incredible hotel. You made us feel like part of your family during our stay. The food was fantastic. (Our room was close to the kitchen so we enjoyed the fantastic aroma of dinner being prepared). We've stayed all over the world and can honestly say we've never been in a cleaner hotel. It was spotless ! It was also very relaxing and tranquil. What a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of Positano and Amalfi.

Commento_:__ = Wow! How can I describe the rooms at the Onda Verde. First you get a web site with Italian music to die for that lures you into wanting to jump on a plane today. Then when you arrive you never want to leave. We were there in April and even though it rained quite alot we found many great things to do. The little fishing village which is walking distance you would only find in Italy on the Amalfi Coast. The road was blocked when we were there from a mud slide, but the little Sita bus stops right at the door of the hotel when the road is open, so you can just ride up and down the coast from Positano to Ravello. Is that heaven or what? We'll definitely be back!

Nigel and I HAVE returned to your most beautiful hotel again this year, following a successful 25th Wedding Anniversary holiday last October.

We can safely say that this holiday even tops last year, much to our amazement. It was going to be very hard to beat! This year we have been more adventurous, hiring water taxis, sailing to places by boats, and even hiring a Smart Car for the day. That was truly an adventure.

As usual your hotel standards were the perfect A1. Absolutely spotlessly clean thanks to your fastidious and friendly cleaner. The food was EVEN BETTER than last year, and enjoyed trying out all the local fish dishes, much to our enjoyment and delight. We have really appreciated the superb quality of every freshly prepared meal, using only the finest ingredients, and sampling the local cuisine.

The view from the restaurant was as stunning as ever and reflected every mood, from the glorious sunrise to the dramatic moonshine reflecting on the sea. This is heaven in deed.

We felt we could truly relax and unwind in this totally unspoilt part of the world, enjoying the fine and simple pleasures of the dramatic views, warm sunshine, fresh air and the perfect 'home from home.'

We appreciate Miro's dry and very amusing sense of humour, and thank you for your efficiency, advice, and for arranging some marvellous trips from the hotel. We thank Sophie and her beautifully spoken English, and appreciate her versatility from turning from host to chef. We have a very soft spot for our favourite waiter, the light-footed and waltzing Gennaro, who only has to look at you to know exactly what he means. He's kept us smiling all week. Special thanks also to the two very capable chefs, who have rustled up some absolutely fantastic meals.

Needless to say, we are saving up very hard again, and intend to return next year. Hotel Onda Verde has a very special place in our hearts.

We are back home in NYC now and still walking in the Praiano dream you provided!  All the reviews we read about Onda Verde  were absolutely true and we can only add to the comments about beauty, friendly family feeling, professional service, cleanliness, and excellent food.  Genarro, the waiter-par-excellence, became a favorite "uncle" to us and I teared up having to say goodbye to him...he is dear and, once you break through his professional posture, he is hysterically funny! It sounds silly to add to the positive rave reviews that you already have, but our time in Onda Verde was indeed very very special.  We laughed a tremendous amount and learned to relax and enjoy life and food and friends Italien style. Walking through the dining room one day, we passed through your family celebration of your son's birthday.  Without hesitation, you scooped up pieces of birthday cake for us to enjoy (it was delicious!). You made us feel almost part of the family! We even met new friends dining by the sea during breathtaking dusks and several evenings of fireworks from nearby festivals or concerts.   We had many things to see in neighboring areas (Positano, Amalfi, Ravello concerts, Capri, Vesuvius etc) but always knew we could return to the nearby quiet pocket of Praiano for dinner and solitude. Thank you, it felt very special to be in your midst and we would heartily recommend Onda Verde as a place to visit.

My wife and I are finally getting back to normal from our wonderful trip to Italy. We travel to Italy every year, primarily to visit our relatives in the Abruzzo region; but,each year,we try to find a special place so we can spend time alone and enjoy the beauty of Italy,especially a Hotel on the Sea. This year, at the Onde Verde, we found such a place. It was extremely special with sea views, which were simply breathtaking; the location was wonderful with the convenience of visiting Positano, Amalfi and Capri by boat and returning from a day's trip to a wonderful home-cooked meal and sharing the experiences of the day with guests, who were very friendly, thanks to Miro and Sophia. At night, we slept with our balcony door open so we could enjoy the quiet of the night with the sea below and waking up to the voices of the fishermen getting ready for their daily catch-a tranquility we will never forget. My wife and I talk about our special get-a-way every day - it surpasse!

Milano graciously booked all our excursions for a worry free time. From the taxi trip from the Naples airport to the return trip everything was fantastic.The location of the hotel outside of Priano was perfect to enjoy the quiet waters and to see the fishermen do their daily routine. The view of the blue waters mesmerised us at night. The water looked like diamonds with the moon's reflection. I will always remember our time there with longing to return. I promised you after my husband and I left in May that I would write to your guestbook, so I am only 6 months late!  But,it is never too late to think about how wonderful our stay was at the Hotel Onda Verde.  This was our second trip, and while I missed my 4 sorellas, we had another wonderful time.  Your hotel is the best on the Amalfi Coast.   The location is wonderful and the food is very good.  Dinner is always a treat, particularly Gennaro's wonderful service!  I recommend your hotel to everyone and I think my brother and his wife have made a reservation to visit next year.  We are planning another trip to Italy next year and if Amalfi is on our itinerary, we will see you again!  There's no other place to stay for us.
