Dear Casimiro - I wanted to thank you for making our trip to Italy so
special. Your hotel is just beautiful and has a spectacular location.
You and the rest of the staff made us feel right at home - only better.
The food was great and the service was even better. Sophia, Hilavie and
Gennaro seemed like family to us and put up with our sometimes raucous
and loud behavior. People are already talking about "when I go back" so
I'm sure that we'll see you again. It could not have been better - only
longer. I'm attaching a couple of pictures for your amusement.

Commento_:__ = About 6 or 7 months ago I went on the internent to look
for a place to take 16 people for a weeks stay on the Amalfi Coast. I
saw the outstanding web-site for the Onda Verde in Praiano. Because of
the very informative presentation I decided to call to see if they could
accommodate us. I spoke to Mr. Milano and he assured me that I would be
pleased with the hotel and its amenities.
I made the reservation and when the time came wired the monies required
for payment the month before.
Our arrangement included transfers from and to the Naples Airport, the
rooms, breakfast, dinner and 2 tours. Later the hotel staff set up
additional tours. At one point they even worked with a travel agent here
in Connecticut to provide us some transportation.
Upon our arrival at the Naples airport the first thing I saw when we
exited was a sign calling for our group. A bus more than large enough to
handle our group and all our suitcases was also waiting. When we got to
the Hotel we were so pleased with not only the setting but also the
location, the cleaniness of the rooms and the entire hotel, the
attention to detail, and all the things you want to gurantee a great
vacation.
During the registration proccess things went very smoothly. At that time
we were give a menu to chose our meal for dinner. Everyday during the
breakfast buffet an evening menu was given to us for our choices of
antipasti, entree and side dish. We filled out the menu and when we
arrived for Dinner they started preparing the antipasti. While we were
eating the antipasti they were preparing from scratch the entree and
side dish. Each and every item was fresh and cooked to order.
The wait staff and chefs were the best. We made the right choice in
having both Breakfast and Dinner at the hotel. The meals were as good
and even better than most of the restaurants we ate at. On two
occassions when we had evening plans the owners of the hotel prepared
our dinner requests at lunch time. This was also an hour earlier than
when they were scheduled to open their kitchen. Once when we were later
in getting back at night for dinner we called and they served us an hour
later they we normally would have eaten. They were very accommodating.
The breakfast buffet was also very outstanding. On one occasion Mr.
Milano's mother made fresh donuts for us.
When one of our group asked if they ever prepared a small fish that was
deep fried or octopus they surprised us and make the dishes for us in
addition to our regular meal. Beverages were in addition to what we got
for dinner and we charged them to our room. When the sixteen of us
checked out after 7 days, there was not one mistake in our bills. The
view, location and service make this an outstanding choice. I truly feel
that the Onda Verde was an important part in making our vacation in
Amalfi outstanding. I want to thank the staff and owners publicly. They
are hard workers and because of it the Onda Verde is second to none on
the whole Amalfi Coast.
Mr Milano, his wife (the nicest person ever) and sister (bubbly and
friendly), the owners are dedicated to making their hotel the best. They
have done just that, it is the best. The 18 plus hours they work daily
has made it a success.
Thanks for the enjoyment you provided us.
P.s. If you use them to book any tours ask for a tour guide named
Alexandra Buttone she was also the best guide in all of Campania.
We stayed at this hotel on out honeymoon May 2000. It was
absolute paradise!! I have never seen a hotel that is actually that much
better in person than in photos. The website doesn't do it justice.
We took a cab from Naples and when we got to the hotel we were surprised
that at ground level we had to take an elevator down to get to the
lobby. The hotel is actually built into the mountain! As soon as you get
off the elevator you see your first view of Paradise. Stunning views!
The staff was so accommodating - the food was amazing - service
excellent. We couldn't have asked for a better honeymooning place and I
can't wait to go back!!

We chose Hotel Onda Verde for our last two nights in Europe to unwind in
a lovely location.
We were not disappointed. The view was lovely, the rooms clean and
comfortable, but even more important was the friendly and helpful staff
which spoke English pretty well.
We did not take advantage of the dinners, but the breakfasts were just
fine!
Internet access was also a plus for us!

My wife and I stayed there for a week on our honeymoon. We got the
upgraded suite with the 7 day package. Room was very nice, with large
patio overlooking the water. Restaurant was excellent.
Apparently the hotel has undergone changes over the last few years, with
many upgrades---I can't speak to this, as this was my first visit. I
will say, however, that three stars seems a very low rating for a hotel
as elegant as this one.
The room was very nice, decorated with the local ceramics. Beautiful
view of the ocean (hotel is perched right on the cliff over the ocean.)
A VERY important point is the location. Praiano is just between Positano
and Amalfi, and is very close to either. A bus comes by frequently,
which is the mode of transportation you will be using. Positano and
Amalfi (and God forbid, Capri!) are loaded with tourists....staying here,
you could quite easily spend the day at any of these places while
returning in the evening to Praiano for a fantastic meal, and a more
secluded environment.
I was very lucky that a friend told me of this place (where he went on
his honeymoon a few years prior.) It was elegant, very inexpensive (for
the level of service), and in an ideal location.
I hope to return to the amalfi coast in the coming years, and i will
certainly be staying there again.

We were fortunate enough to return to this jewel by the sea in June,
2006. A boutique hotel - family owned and operated - the most immaculate
hotel we have visited in Europe. We usually attempt to stay in B&B's
because of the personal experience. The Milano Family - Miro and Sofia -
provide the intimate experience with the personal care and attention
they provide for each guest. Chef Franco in their kitchen will provide
cooking lessons on request - his tiramisu is simply the BEST! So many
lovely surprises will enhance your stay here. We are planning our return
for next year - the stunning views will capture your heart!

We stayed at Hotel Onda Verde from May 27th-29th. It was a weekend dive
trip for us, as we live in close-by Naples. The hotel was magnificent.
It is nestled in the quiet cove of Praiano, between Positano and Amalfi.
We took the half-board plan (breakfast and dinner), and we are so glad
we did. Each morning at breakfast, we would select our special dinner
meal, based on the fresh catch of the day or other local favorites. Then
at dinner, we sat out under the stars, overlooking the bay, watching the
boats go in and out and listening to the waves. It was well worth it.
The room was big and had a nice balcony that overlooked the bay. It was
quiet and serene. You could hear the boats leaving and coming in to the
bay in the morning, along with the birds and the ocean. A very nice
room.
The local diving center, La Boa, is located at the beach. You will have
to carry your dive equipment to the dive center, as well as carry it on
to the boat. The boat is a beautiful wooden 12-meter boat that was
restored and it is very nice. The water was very cold for diving, and
the visibility was not that good. But it was early in the season. They
took us to Capo Daniella, which is along the south coastal area. We dove
around and even came across a cave which the roof was rich of
multicoloured sponges.
The shopping and food within the local towns of Positano and Amalfi were
great. Each day, we caught the local bus, which picks you up and drops
you off in front of the hotel elevator. I never had to use my car the
entire stay.
The staff was great and they were always very helpful and accommodating.
We would go back and would recommend it to anyone.

We stayed at the Hotel Onde Verde for 8 nights during May. This hotel
was phenomenal! Casimiro and his family were extremely helpful and very
friendly, contrary to other reviewers experiences. The Milano family
and their staff were always easy to speak with and very accommodating in
whatever we needed from taking a picture for us to booking a tour and
explaining the bus schedules. The package included a Mercedes to pick us
up from the train station and take us from the hotel. The views from our
room and most places within the hotel are breathtaking and the photos on
the website do not do it justice. Our room was very big, very clean and
with great ocean views. The meals were all fantastic huge portion
sizes and lots of variety. Eating breakfast every morning on the patio
overlooking the ocean and coast was one of the best highlights of our
stay. Dinner was always enjoyable with great food and wine. Genaros
service was outstanding
he even took the time to help us work on our
Italian! Overall our stay at this hotel was certainly the highlight of
our trip to Italy. We read all the reviews on this hotel on the
Tripadvisor website beforehand and were prepared for some of the
negative things other reviewers had experienced. We are happy to say that we had no issues whatsoever, we
were treated extremely well by the Milano family and their staff and
enjoyed every minute of our stay. We absolutely would return here again
and would encourage all our family and friends to do the same! Thanks
again to Casimiro and his family and staff for a wonderful visit!

We spent 8 nights at the Onde Verde on the best vacation ever. We
appreciated the choices for dinner and the array of breakfast food.
Fabulous view, great food, dining outdoors overlooking the bay was a
special treat. So glad we did not rent a car. The hotel arranged for
Dominico, who spoke perfect English, to meet us at the Naples airport in
a new Mercedes. From then on we took the bus or ferries from Amalfi or
Positanto. The bus cost only 1EU and stopped at the door. We did a lot
of hiking, mostly from Ravello down to the coast. Let the bus do the
uphill. It was very tranquil to return to Praino after the touristy
places. Advice: try to avoid the real tourist places like the Blue
Grotto. We took the boat right from Priano to Capri and stayed there for
three nights.

My husband and I just returned from Italy where we spent 5 nights at the
Onda Verde Hotel. We had the room that is on their brochure, and it was
wonderful! The view is one of the best on the Amalfi Coast, and the
staff is friendly and very helpful. Sophia was wonderful, and she and
Brianna were great helping me find my luggage lost by the airline. The
small staff does everything. I am not sure when they sleep. They were
there from 7am to midnight each day. While it took a bit to get Casimiro
Milano (owner) to smile, he was always helpful.
The hotel is wonderfully located and right on the SITA bus line. We
didn't rent a car. We were very pleased with the bus service that takes
you anywhere you want to go.
This is a 3 star hotel. There was no one to help us with our luggage,
but we didn't need help. Be prepared to do your own "heavy lifting" when
it comes to luggage. There is an elevator so we had no problems with
doing it ourselves. It is a long walk down to the "beach" which is like
most Italian beaches -- rocks (not sand) -- but we enjoyed the walk and
thought the exercise was good for us. There is a free water-taxi to
Positano each morning and from Positano you can go to Capri or Amalfi.
Praiano: Hotel Onda Verde: "Great Hotel in a fantastic
location"
May 20, 2006: hlitner@comcast.net, Harrisburg, PA
We just returned from an extended trip where we spent 6 nights at the
Onda Verda..a delightful small hotel (20 rooms) located about a mile
East of Praino on the Amalfi Coast. We had booked one of the smallest
rooms in the hotel, but it was still excellent. Every morning I would
awake to see the reflection of the sea (below) on our ceiling. The room
had recently been totally renovated with new paint, furniture, flat
screen TV, and a 5 star bathroom. The owners (a brother and sister team)
have obviously put their hearts and soul into maintaining this fabulous
hotel. We decided to use their half-board plan (breakfast and dinner)
and were always pleased with the food and dining room service. The
owners (+ spouse) were always working and were happy to answer our
questions and offer daily advice on the region. We appreciated the
parking lot (parking is a problem on the Amalfi coast) and found the
Amalfi road much easier to navigate than advertised...although I would
not want to deal with the summer traffic. For those that like taking
tours (we are independent and avoid most tours) the hotel will arrange
any kind of tour (including boat pick-ups at their dock) for those that
do not want to brave driving (and parking) in the region or the constant
waiting for the famous SITA buses (there is a bus stop very close to the
hotel). We cannot imagine ever returning to the Amalfi coast without
staying at the Onda Verde.

This is a wonderful, family run hotel. It is located literally above the
sea in the village of Priano approximately two miles from Positano. Each
morning I awoke with the sun and watched the fishermen begin their day
by setting their nets. Most rooms have balcony areas where one can watch
the sea day and night. My large family group had a number of seniors and
although the hotel is set into the hill, it has an elevator which made
their movement easy. There is a walkway down to the small harbor where
one can catch a water taxi ( arranged by the very pleasant hotel staff)
or take a dip in the cool Mediterranean. The rest of us relaxed in the
comfortable dining room which also serves as the bar area. There is a
small parking garage above the hotel for those brave enough to drive the
Amalfi coast. My cousins showed their true mettle and skill on the local
roads. One of the nicest day trips was to Ravello--a town not to be
missed. My sister and I also took a day tour to Pompeii -- the hotel
arranges to have breakfast early for those going on tours. I have
recommended this hotel to my friends and would definitely stay again.
Praiano: Hotel Onda Verde: "Great Vacation for Everyone!"
May 1, 2006: Portland, Maine
Would I stay at this location again: absolutely!
We have just come back from touring Italy with our two sons. The Onda
Verde Hotel exceeded our expectations! First of all, we felt we couldn't
have had more breath taking views of the Almafi coastline with its blue
green sea lapping upon the rocks below. The 30 room hotel offered a
quiet oasis from the hustle and bustle of Almalfi. Traveling with two
boys, our room was easily accommodating for four. The rooms balcony was
an amazing place to watch the sunrise or sunset. After touring Pompeii
and Capri, (arranged tours and drivers by their friendly staff), it was
wonderful to come back to an 8 pm seating of impeccable food. Every
morning at breakfast we selected our courses for dinner, we would each
try to select different foods so we wouldnt miss any of their offerings!
My now husband and I were treated civilly, but they often made us feel like we were interrupting their conversations with each other if we needed to set up an excursion or rent a towel. Other than that though, we had an amazing trip. This is one of the few hotels that surpassed my expectations, especially compared with our Rome hotel. We were upgraded, free of charge, to an amazing room. The bathroom and bedroom were immaculate, charming, and enormous. We had a large, private porch with spectacular views. The food and wine at the Onda Verde are by far the best in the area of the cliffs (although the staff at nearby restaurants are exceedingly friendly). We heard none of the noise that some have complained of from the nearby nightclub. Our excursion to Capri was absolutely wonderful, and the limo driver was hilarious (pulled up with "Stayin' Alive" blasting). :) All in all, I would stay at the Onda Verde again in a heartbeat. As I said, the staff weren't friendly, but they weren't mean-spirited either and, being on my honeymoon, I was rather inclined to spend time enjoying the gorgeous scenery with my husband, rather than chit-chatting with the owners. The place is absolutely breathtaking both outside and in, so if you are looking for a beautiful, private place for a romantic vacation, the Onda Verde is a magnificent choice.

My husband & I have been home from our trip to Italy almost 6 months now
but my thoughts and memories of the Onda Verde & the Amalfi Coast are
still fresh and warm in my mind and heart. We were with another couple
when with you and none of us could ever remember being so well taken
care of - from you arranging for Andrea to take us out in his boat
several times for wonderful swims in that incredibly clear, gem-like
blue water, to having taxis waiting for us, to arranging a cooking class
for us - not to mention the wonderful meals.
All my life I'll remember opening the French doors just at sunrise and
listening to the fisherman rowing out to his boat, singing opera with
his head up to the sun.
Thank you so much for everything you did for us and to Gennaro and
Sofia. The Onda Verde is such a special spot - not just the views and
the food which are spectacular - but you made us feel so much at home.
Last weekend we had some Positano lemoncello out of your glasses and
thought of the view and of all of you (...but the lemoncello wasn't
nearly as delicious as your Onda Verde home-made lemoncello).
We'll come again another year.

Praiano: Hotel Onda Verde: "Perfect!"
Jan 9, 2006: Minneapolis, MN
We stayed here for 7 glorious nights in October 2005. There aren't
enough words (or enough time) to describe how perfect this hotel was.
The view from our room was breathtaking. The staff was superb. The
location was ideal. The food was excellent (daily breakfast and one
dinner.) We opted for the room & breakfast without dinner - only because
we wanted to enjoy as many restaurants as we could while we were
visiting this area. If there was an overall rating higher than excellent
- we would select that option. In fact, we hope to go back again this
fall. Having stayed at the Onde Verde, we cannot imagine staying
anywhere else on the Amalfi Coast.
Praiano: Hotel Onda Verde: "Perfect Location on Amalfi
Coast"
Oct 19, 2005: suburban Philadelphia
For our vacation in Italy, I chose 3 hotels with recommendations from
TripAdvisor (Hotel Concordia, Hotel Onda Verde & Hotel Teatro di
Pompeo). I have reviewed them all as well and included some photos. But
go to Onda Verde's website for a better look at what they offer and what
is around the area. Casimiro Milano keeps up with the website and seems
to always be adding more everytime I go back to it (I do visit it often
to listen to the music and re-live the beauty!)
My husband and I took advantage of the 7 night package Hotel Onda Verde
offers with breakfast, dinner, transportation to and from Naples and 2
tours. The food was always wonderful, the view spectacular, the rooms
very clean and we were thrilled to stay in such a beautiful location!
The shower in our room was the smallest we encountered in Italy, so if
that's an issue for you, keep it in mind. The room itself was spacious
with a perfect view 24 hours a day. They provide a safe in your room (which
were at all the hotels we stayed), although we never felt it necessary,
we did use it for our passports, etc. The owners and staff were always
cordial and helpful to us. All in all, I wouldn't hesitate to go back.
Hotel Onda Verde is a great location from which to explore the Amalfi
coast and for first-timers, the 7 night package was the perfect idea for
us. It was a pleasure to come back from a long day of touring around,
take a shower and stroll to the restaurant right above our room for an
always satisfying dinner overlooking the Tyrrenian Sea, a bottle of
wine, a limoncello and a relaxing evening back on the balcony of our
room. In regard to negative reviews, my personal feeling is that if you
have a great attitude, are easy-going and a little out-going too, you'll
be quite happy with Onda Verde.

Dear Wonderful Hosts of the Hotel Onda Verde
We have not forgotten you, or our trip. It was magnifico! We talk about
it every week, and tell all of our friends and relatives! It has been
raining here for the last 25 of 26 days, and I often imagine myself at
