On arrival we were completely aghast (amazed) at how good everything was. The lift, view, retaurant, the room, just perfect.
Staff were fantastic, the food out of this world. Had to ask Hotel Management to call for a Doctor one morning - to our amazement, the Doctor arrived very quickly - 15 minutes? Hotel is central to lots of day trips, the roads a little scarey (frightened) but got used to the sound and closeness of cars passing.
View is absolutely fantastic and would return again. Will tell friends how good this hotel is to spend time relaxing.

After being in Europe for an extended period of time, my hope was to take a few restorative days on the coast, and without question, the time spent at Onda Verde exceeded all expectations. I felt embraced by the family of the hotel, from the front desk to the restaurant to the housekeeping staff. The consistency of such a high level of service and the care shown to each guest is a testament to the leadership and management of the hotel. Everyone was helpful, gracious and kind, often going out of their way to make sure I was looked after. The restaurant always provided a gastronomic experience, with outstanding regional wine choices. The setting of the hotel itself could not have been more beautiful, with stunning views of the sparkling Mediterranean. I particularly appreciated the peacefulness of the location and enjoyed being woken each morning by a pair of roosters. Miro and Sofia, I will be back to Amalfi, and it is to Hotel Onda Verde that I shall return! Grazie mille!

Our recent stay at Onda Verde was one of the best vacation we have ever had. After travelling over Europe and visiting family we were looking forward to some rest and relaxation. Our stay at Onda Verde was exactly that. Everything was taken care of for us; from the trips to Capri and Pompei to providing delicious home made meals.

It's true what they say that it's the people that make a place great and Onda Verde was better than great. From the cleanliness of the hotel to the sumptuous meals, everything far exceeded our expectations.

Special_Remarks = It was our pleasure to visit for just a few days the beautiful coast of Amalfi. It was also our pleasure to stay at the beautiful and comfortable Hotel Onda Verda. The room we had was clean, comfortable with a spectacular view of the coast. We found that the staff was so helpful and pleasant. It was our first trip to this part of Italy and although we were novices the staff was very helpfull in making suggestions as to how to enjoy the area.
Now to the food....this was no doubt one of the highlights of this hotel. Every meal was stupendous, and served so beautifully. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfasts, the crossiants the best I have ever had!
I know that if we have the opportunity to travel to the Amalfi coast again, there is no question about where we will stay....it will the Hotel Onda Verde!

My husband and I spent a week at Hotel Onda Verdi in Praiano on the Amalfi Coast in July. We travel often and thought this property was by far the nicest, warmest and most beautiful places we have ever stayed at. Not only was the hotel beautiful, built on a cliff and comprised of several villas, the staff could not do enough for you. We were greeted each day by name and Carmela at the front desk was born to do what she does best, help people plan activities. An added bonus was the restaurant and staff. We ate breakfast each morning overlooking the sea and had dinner there several times, wonderful food, no need to go elsewhere. It was our home away from home for a week and we will return.

We certainly only had smattering of Italian, but it was amazing the wonderful cheery conversations we had of a morning - always a smile from Rosa.

..Our only regrest is that we are so far from you here in Australia because all of us would like to make the Onda Verde and the Milano family an annual pilgrimage - BUT 40 hours travelling time is rather tiring on "senior citizens" which the four of us are - but thanks to you we had a ball and I do not think we missed anything.
..Our Greek Island cruise after we left you was wonderful, but again we wore ourselves out and thought another week back with Miro and family would be a marvellous way of re-energising our selves.

The hotel looks wonderful and we wish you good fortune with your plans for the new tunnel and adding space. It seems that working to do anything to change takes a lot of patience.

I wanted to tell you that the meals were just outstanding this visit. You did very well to bring in the new chef from Murat, his ability to come up with different ideas for dinner was amazing. Keep him happy!! I hope your Mother has been able to get some relief from her back problems. I had the pleasure of speaking with her (in my horrible attempt to speak Italian) She is a lovely person and I see where you and Sophia inherit your graciousness.

The food was wonderful, and the service provided by each staff member was so thoughtful. I think that your motto should be not only "You worry for nothing." but also, "Anything is possible." No matter what our request might be, you always managed to help us do and to have what we wanted. Our last night there was such a delightful surprise.
We really do enjoy all of the people there, and it was such a pleasant "farewell" party you gave to Nita and me with the extra desserts and the georgeous ceraminc bowls, and especially the card signed by everyone there. You know, people make the difference. Special_Remarks = For the past 20 years, we have annually travelled to Italy for the culture, sunshine and culinary pleasures. In year 2000 we found this gem in Praiano, mid way between Positano and Amalfi on the coast road. The warmth and hospitality of the Milano family and staff welcomed us as if members of their family. We have returned each year, and some years twice, as it will be this year.Its excellent access to public trnasportation precludes the necessity of driving. The practicality of half-board (excellent menus) enables one to explore the Sorrentine Peninsula. Thank you all for another memorable holiday. See you in October.

Special_Remarks = We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Onda Verde last September (2006) and we are counting the days until we return. The Milano Family took care of our ever need. The food, rooms and views were incredible! We participated in the dinners each night but one out of 8 nights and I highly recommend you do the same. The foods is amazing! Do make sure you let them take care of arranging your excursions. The SITA bus is the only way to travel around the Amalfi Coast;the hotel sells the tickets and the stop is just outside of the hotel. During high season there is always a wait for the bus but be patient and remember you are on the Amalfi Coast, and a little piece of heaven is right infront of you. We made some wonderful friends at the hotel and have very found memories of our time together. The pictures on the hotel's website are true to the beauty of the Coast and Praiano. We travelled with our 19 year old son and he loved every minute of his time at the hotel including his own private room. We plan to return in 2008 or sooner if at all possible. After spending five days at the Hotel Onda Verde in May, we really didn't want to leave. The staff at this family run hotel is very friendly and helpful. Our room and its balcony became a comfortable base for exploring the Amalfi Coast during our stay. Starting at the hotel you can explore the beach and restaurants at the nearby beach, accessible by a walkway at the edge of the cliffs. You can catch the bus at the stop near the hotel, which we did to explore Amalfi, Rovello, and Vietri. (Usually the bus is convenient and a bargain, but sometimes it can be quite crowded.) You can sit outside and have breakfast, or eat inside with a wonderful view. (Breakfast foods were high quality, but somewhat limited. Cereals, pastries, and juices were available, but it was a shame no fresh fruit was added.) Dinner at the Onda Verde is very good, but most guests would probably enjoy trying out the nearby restaurants with more somewhat more varied offerings. At these restaurants we particulary enjoyed the extremely fresh seafood, including clams, mussels, squid, and freshly caught fish.

I'd like to provide some words of advice to fellow travelers about excursions from Onda Verde. We took an enjoyable day trip to Capri. However, we really didn't feel like we experienced the island; the organized trip is hurried and regimented. I'd recommend spending a night on Capri to really get a sense of the place and to experience the island without the hordes of day trippers. Getting to Pompeii from the Amalfi Coast also takes much longer than you expect. After the organized trip to Capri, we decided to hire a driver and a private guide for an "exclusive trip" exploring Pompeii and Herculaneum. Although this is expensive, we really felt it was worth it. You really could spend days exploring Pompeii. Just spending two hours there on an organized trip would be disappointing. Make sure you see the political ads, the body casts of the poor vicitims of the volcano, and the erotica at Pompeii.

We used busses to get to Rovello which has a million euro view which just doesn't seem real, and to explore the ceramic factories/shops in Vietri. You can buy Amalfi Coast ceramics in hundreds of places, but a trip to Vietri to see the best variety and the decorated storefronts is a treat. The ride to Vietri is also stunning.

Give yourself plenty of time for excursions and remember that getting around the Amalfi Coast can be slow, and very expensive if you are not using the bus. Cabs and limos are as much as 25 times the cost of the bus! Renting a car there is also a scarry thought. The roads are exceptionally narrow and there are many places where you need to stop for oncoming traffic and even back up.

I highly recommend the Onda Verde as a wonderful small hotel on the Amalfi Coast. It's a great place to stay, but be advised that excursions to places that seem nearby may be more difficult than you expect.
