My husband and I had not taken a vacation in over 20 years, so we decided to visit his parents in Pescara, Italy and then spend some time on the Amalfi coast. From the moment we stepped into our room, we knew we had made the right choice. The rooms are all absolutely beautiful and comfortable. Stepping out onto the main balcony took our breath away, the view is awe inspiring we both had tears in our eyes. The best part about the whole hotel is the staff. They quickly became like family to us taking care of our every need. The chefs were amazing and even cooked the fish that we caught off the walkway. The wait-staff was exceptional and we will never forget Pepe. If you want to go on a vacation in Italy this is the place to go. It was heaven on Earth. We will definitely go back. When we left I was unable to speak because I was crying, I did not want to leave. It was the most beautiful place I have ever seen in my life. You must go!

One word describes our hotel Onda Verde experience: INCREDIBLE! But even "incredible" does little justice. The staff, rooms, food, location, everything exceeded my expectations. Our summer vacation began with a short stay in Rome, then four full nights on the Amalfi Coast at The Hotel Onda Verde. I did not want to leave! Our rooms were tastefully appointed, comfortable and cheerful. The private terrace featured diamond skies, ruby sunsets, and brilliant fireworks launched each night except Sunday...which served to remind us that the hotel Onda verde is a truly special place...one ready to deliver lifelong memories...over and over again. I can hardly wait to return!

I don't know where to start as this was definitely one of the best
holidays my wife and I have taken.
The position of the hotel is superb with magnificent views on all
sides.
It was a pleasure to eat in the restaurant every evening (we were on
half-board) with the view of course providing a beautiful backdrop,
but also the very attentive and friendly staff.
In fact all the staff in the hotel were most kind and helpful. For
example the chef made a point of providing little extras, as well as
some of his recipes on our request.
Our room was beautifully decorated in local style with a lot of
majolica.
We didn't hire a car, but used buses to go to places like Positano
and Amalfi, which was entertaining in its own right by providing a
view of local life.
All in all an excellent holiday. The 3-star rating is in my opinion
below what it deserves..
Thank you from all the staff at Hotel Onda Verde

We had been travelling throughout Italy for three weeks before we
arrived at Hotel Ona Verde. Hotel Ona Verde is in the town of
Praiano. It is smaller than Positano but you could walk everywhere
and we didn't need a car which made it a real plus that the Sita Bus
from Sorrento stops right in front of the Hotel. When we walked into
the Hotel after the bus ride along the Amalfi coast, we were
overwhelmed with the amazing view from Reception. When we checked in
and were taken to our room and saw the incredible view of the sea
from our room and the beauty of the coast that surrounded us, we
knew we had picked the perfect place to end our travels. Hotel Ona
Verde is a family run business. From excellent food and the best
local wine, Ravello Costa d'Amalfi (The Chef often visited our table
to ensure everything was perfect), to an amazing view from every
location of the Hotel to exceptional service, Francesco & The Milano
Family made our visit a memorable experience.
Regards from Canada. Hope to visit again.

We drove from Naples and it was like a roller coaster! Great fun but not for the faint hearted at all! Far better you get Miro to arrange to have you met & driven to Hotel. Once there it is a "pinch me Im dreaming" place. Run by the Milano family you are treated as if you are one of the Family! Francesco the Son works on the front of house things and NOTHING is ever too much trouble. He wanders around the restaurant and one can clearly see he loves his job. The place is not at all fussy & portrays the image of a time past with its peaceful location & enchanting views from your room. We viewed a few of the rooms whilst there and could not find one we would not highly recommend. Ours had a balcony overlooking the fishing village below and had a Spa bath with a shower. TV. with English channels (BBC CNN etc) but did not watch it much. There were also various radio stations available. Rooms were plenty big enough with lots of wardrobe space. You get lots of opportunity to walk off the magnificent "in house" food the Chef produces each day. You WILL eat too much .. How can you resist! But a stroll down the steps to other bars & cliff tops and the fishing beach helps give you an appetite for the next delight that Chef conjures up! We were simply sitting outside on the veranda enjoying a quiet cocktail overlooking the ocean & boats when out came the chef with a grin as big as his Menu ... He had made some special small pies just for us to sample, no charge, he was just that proud of his cooking! Miro the father has run this place for nearly fifty years (he looks very young to have but I believe him) his wife and children assist!
The waiters are friendly and obliging and nothing is ever too much trouble.
We much prefer this Hotel tucked away atop a hill in a quiet place then downtown ones or those in more Tourist places nearby. The hotel can arrange a taxi to anywhere you wish for a very reasonable charge. We took the Water Taxi which was great fun. The hotel arranged a speed boat trip to Capri (we paused at the Blue Lagoon) and had a trip to Pompeii and other places of interest. Location is superb if you enjoy walking - Recommended if you seek to get away from everything or are on Honeymoon - restful at night - recommended for food - Just a dream like place. There is a tight tiny (tiny!) car park atop the hotel with lift to all areas but again we recommend the hotel driver collects you. If you like cliff views & a balcony overlooking the ocean & fishing village .... This is the place. I just can not see how anyone can not love it here! I was with my Wife & her Business partner. It was a snap decision trip over the extended "Royal Wedding" weekend, Best thing we ever did and as enjoyable as any place we have ever been! We WILL go back this year now we have found it. This place will get busier as word gets out on its recently improved quality rooms etc. Ask Miro for his SPECIAL extended visit rate which includes food & trips to Capri etc. It is really good value.

I am coming back to the Hotel Onda Verde because it is like visiting another home for me. It is by far the most kindest, interpersonal and intimate hotel on the Amfalfi Coast. Family owned and operated, there is a certain level of detail and care given to the guest that is not given at other hotels. The views in the morning are breathtaking and exhaling. The views at night are mesmerizing and romantic. Dinner is tutto authentic Italian. You never leave the table with an empty stomach; a gastronomic sensation is created by their chefs. At hotel Onda verde you can come alone and have the time of your life, spend your time with your family or spouse and create a memory for a life time. I am coming in September and I absolutely cannot wait! I recommend anyone who reads my feelings about this place, put my words to the test!

Our stay at the Onda Verde was completely wonderful. The hotel is lovely and the staff treated us like family. We enjoyed several delicious meals there in addition to the excellent breakfasts. Finally, the location was beyond all expectations - incredible views and a rare tranquillity. Our 4 days there were not enough and we look forward to returning in the near future.

Dear Miro, We have just returned from our fifth visit in five years and cannot wait for our visit next year. Each year it just gets better. Can it be possible for next year to surpass this year?! The food, the views, the staff...perfetto! Thank you for ALWAYS making us feel welcome and special!

Buon giorno!!
A message to Miro and to all staff, including the waiter and chef Nicola and I wish to say
a very big THANK YOU to everyone at the wonderful Hotel Onda Verde.
It has been the most memorable, and the most beautiful holiday of our lives, never to be
forgotten. Our minds are still full of the beauty, charm and culture of Italy. Our room
was perfect, with the most beautiful private balcony overlooking that glorious sea. We
wish we were still there.
The service given by yourself and your team has been perfect. We have enjoyed the comfort,
the food, the arranged coach tours to Pompeii/Versuvius and to Rome - even though they
were long, tiring days.
We are now saving up and very much hope to return to your beautiful hotel once again.
Please express our gratitude to your lovely waiter and to the chefs for their wonderful
food. We can and are certainly recommending your hotel to our friends and family.
We hope to see you all again, next year.
Many thanks,
Dave & Lily
It has been nearly 4 years since my stay at this beautiful place, and I still have the view from my balcony on me computer screen saver. I recall the wonderful food, people and pure beauty of my stay every time I open my computer. I can't wait til I am able to return!

Special_Remarks = Dear Miro & Francesco,
Debbie and I can't thank you enough for the week we spent with you
at Onda Verde. Having spent 20 days in Europe our time with you was
the highlight of our trip. You have a wonderful hotel, an awesome
staff, especially Pepino and Nicola! The room, the food, the view
and your gracious hospitality were all exceptional. Please wish
Francesco and great trip to the US and remind him to look us up when
he's in Florida.
Have a safe and enjoyable winter
Hi Miro and Francesco,
We had an amazing stay at the beautiful Onde Verde and were so sorry
we had to leave in such a hurry that last day>!!
I am not sure what happened but we missed the call to get up on time
. Thankfully Giovanni waited for us and got us to the train on time
but it was quite a rush for him to get us there .
We enjoyed our stay so much and have been telling all our friends
about your beautiful hotel built into the rock face . The views
every day were spectacular .
I know how hard you all work to make everyones stay so enjoyable
and to make us feel at home .
We went on to Tuscany for another week and then Venice for 4 days .
We just got back on Oct 6 th and had great weather the whole time .
We have wonderful memories of each part of our journey but the
Amalfi coast was the best of all .
Thanks so much for all your help and friendly service to your
clients . We hope to be back in a few years to see you all again .

Comfortable, homey hotel with private terraces overlooking the sea.
Our room was quiet, very clean and spacious. The large terrace
overlooked the sparkling Mediterranean framed by a small
marina/beach on one side and a medieval guard tower on the other.
The lovely restaurant has a terrace with a spectacular view for
enjoying breakfast or dinner. Breakfast is included and is very good.
In addition to the standard breakfast staples, there are homemade
treats each morning.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant waiters and chef
were great! We had a private cooking class with chef Nicola which
was a LOT of fun. We learned how to make several kinds of pasta from
scratch and how to cook it in new ways (ie. baked in cupcake molds,
deep fried).
Praiano is a quiet village, but the bustling towns of Positano,
Amalfi and Ravello are easily accessible by using the bus stop in
front of the hotel. If you prefer a taxi, the hotel arranges for a
driver in an air conditioned luxury sedan or van.
If you're looking for a relaxing, quiet place to enjoy the Amalfi
Coast, this is it!

Hi! I stayed at the hotel with the 7 Day Package in June of 2011. I was travelling with another couple who also came to the Amalfi Coast with me after we toured Tuscany and spent some time in Rome. The Hotel Onde Verde part of the trip was by far the best part!! WE LOVED IT AND ARE STILL TALKING ABOUT HOW GREAT IT WAS NOW! Have to return next year and bringing others! Guiseppe was our waiter everyday and just doted on us so much. Nick made our fantastic meals and even made us french fries to please one of our group :) Everything was just as the website said it would be but the warmth of the staff made it a million times better than we could have hoped. Thank you everyone and see you next year! Kim, Brooke and Barry!

There are no words to describe what a wonderful experience we had staying in this beautiful hotel and amid such wonderful surroundings. Everyone made us so welcome, and it was very hard to leave. The evenings spent dining overlooking the ocean, enjoying superb cuisine with super service will remain with us for a very long time. We envy those that will follow us, and wish the Milano Family and all the staff at Hotel Onda Verde continuing success. We shall miss you all.

We just returned from our trip to the Amalfi coast and our stay at Hotel Onda Verde, and cannot say enough good things about our experience there! From the wonderfully appointed room to the amazing restaurant, unbelievable views and stellar personal attention, there is nothing that we would change. Thank you so much for an absolutely amazing vacation experience! We hope to return someday, but in the meantime will encourage all of our friends to visit Hotel Onda Verde!

Special_Remarks = Our week at Hotel Onda Verde was fabulous. We stayed with our 2 sons aged 15 and 12 years and all look back on our holiday with a great deal of pleasure. We were picked up from the airport by Gennaro who is a brilliant driver. We arrived at the hotel and received a warm welcome and immediately made to feel at home by Francesco. The hotel's location is wonderful, our room was lovely, clean and offered a breathtaking view of the bay below. The food was exquisite and thank you so much to Nicholas the chef who accommodated our sons by occasionally adapting their menus. They miss him immensely especially now that they are stuck with my cooking again !!! Our waiters Pepe and Raffael were so very kind, always happy to help and bringing extra treats to our table from Nicholas. It was a real pleasure to have met them. We have never experienced such great service from a hotel before; when our son was ill and we had to cancel our pre-arranged trip to Capri Francesco and Milo arranged for us to hire a boat on a different day and it was unforgettable. To everyone at Hotel Onda Verde thank you from the bottom of our hearts, we will be back!!!

We have been to Italy 20 times, and have travelled all around the country. Our stay at Hotel Onda Verde was as enjoyable as anywhere we have been. We drove to the hotel from Sorrento along the Amalfi Coast, and were pleasantly surprised to easily find the hotel, which has a convenient car port. Situated halfway between Positano and Amalfi in the town of Praiano, the hotel is built in the side of the cliff and has water views with breathtaking scenery. Miro and his son, Francesco, have put together a staff that takes pride in serving their guests. The rooms are clean and spacious and the hotel has many of the qualities and ambience of a 5-star hotel instead of its 3-star listing. When traveling, we avoid eating in hotel restaurants, as the food is usually not as good as advertised. What surprised us the most, however, was the excellent and fresh food they served at the hotel. Mama mia! The seafood, including fish, mussels, clams and the pastas delighted the tongue and beckoned us to return to eat in the restaurant again and again. Because we were planning on staying on the Amalfi coast, with its high volume of traffic, we wondered when we booked the hotel as to the degree of difficulty going to other towns. Getting around could not have been simpler. Just below the hotel, in convenient walking distance is the water taxi stand, where you can easily take a scenic ride to either Positano or Amalfi, two interesting and celebrated towns that are far more packed with tourists than Praiano. We're already making plans to return again to this remarkable hotel.
no better way to enjoy the beauty of the amalfi coast than by staying at this hotel. it is perfectly situated to get around to all of the towns on the coast. the hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained, and the staff as friendly as can be. meals are wonderful. wouldn't dream of staying anywhere else on the amalfi coast. five-star in my book.
The staff at this hotel make every guest sfeel like
welcome family! They are attentive and warm without ever being overbearing.
My family had a hard time understanding how this was only a 3 star hotel--
every room has an ocean view, gorgeous linens and comfortable mattresses;
the food is fresh, locally inspired and delicious and the location is
unbeatable. We were a family of 2 adults and 2 older children and everyone
fell in love with Onda Verde! The location is quiet and private and linked
up to the larger Amalfi coast towns by a bus stop and water taxis all just a
few steps away.
We can't think of a single complaint!
Beautiful family-run hotel offering all that anyone could
ever want for an adventure on the Amelfi Coast. Amazing views, delightful
food, fabulous wine, impeccable service with many tours on offer for the
surrounding area. Last time, like the one before, was so wonderful, heading
back with some friends in a fortnight.
One not to miss for a true
italian experience.
We drove from Naples and it was like a roller coaster!

My husband and I stayed with Miro and his family at their
Family owned and operated Hotel Onda Verde on the Amalfi Coast in April
2011. After a very interesting train ride, we opted to have Miro arrange for
a driver pick us up from Sorrento as opposed to taking the SITA bus that
runs from Sorrento to Praiano. The drive is beautiful out to Praiano.
Francesco welcomed my husband and I with open arms; we are an young,
American, multi-ethnic couple who receives strange looks from some people
who do not realize that I am a Ph.D. and my husband also has a professional
degree beyond a Bachelors; we're normal, happy, friendly, law-abiding
citizens who like to travel the world. Everyone was kind, friendly,
hospitable, wonderful to talk to, just really pleasant. The room was
wonderful; super clean (I am a clean/germ/neat freak) and I was thrilled.
The bed was comfortable - two twins pushed together with a thick pad on top
that covered the middle so the gap wasn't noticeable. The bed (letto) had
the warmest blankets; we slept with the doors open to the terrazza. We opted
to purchase our room with half board, which included breakfast and dinner
each day. The food was very good. Breakfast was typical Italian breakfast.
Dinner was great! Large selection of seafood caught right there in the Sea
and prepared by Chef. We loved the food, wine, service, and company. There
are restaurants around the hotel, but we chose to eat with Miro; much
easier. We went on the trip to Capri and had a ball. Worth the money and
time. The hotel arranges it for you. Great time. One of our favorite things
was the silence. It was so quiet, relaxing...not an airplane in sight for
days. No loud cars. Just little tiny quiet cars, little scooters, little
fishing boats, sea gulls. Perfetto!!!
We cannot wait to go back. Hat is off to Miro, his family and the Hotel Onda
Verde!!! :)
***The hotel is extremely remote. We highly recommend if you have lots of
luggage or are not good with TrenItalia, have MIro's driver pick you up in
Napoli. **Do not try the Circumsuveviana. It could be very confusing or even
dangerous if you do not speak Italian. I am extremely good with the Treni,
speak Italian, and I was confused by that system. It is not TrenItalia.
There were drunks, homeless, very questionable individuals on the circumsu.
treno. Professionally we are not who are normally bothered by individuals
from various socio-economic stratus, various races, ethnicities, cultures,
etc., but this was not very comfortable. We would not allow our parents or
children to travel on that treno; put it that way and my Dad lived in Europe
for years. We normally travel EuroStar/FrecchiaRossa/Gento; this other treno
was more like the worst inner city treno I'd ever seen. Avoid this: Simply
have Miro arrange to have you picked up by the company called "Flavio" (Antonino
owns it) and all will be ok. We were charged 90 Euro from the hotel to
Napoli. Some drivers wanted 120 Euro, Antonino was cheaper. Next time, we
will take the EuroStar to Napoli and be picked up there by Antonino, then
Antonino will take us back...problem solved. No more Circumsuviana
Treno.
This place is magical. The hotel is built into the side of a cliff next to a tiny fishing village. It's much more warm and welcoming than the scene in nearby Positano. The view is breath-taking, no matter the weather. The staff are wonderful. Be prepared to eat some amazing seafood. The chef leaves trays of homemade treats for guests between meals. We would go back in a second.
